Tormenting spirits

We stand with you in spiritual warfare, recognizing the reality of the battle against dark forces as described in Ephesians 6:12: "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We take authority over every tormenting spirit in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, for it is written in Philippians 2:9-11: "Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
We rebuke every unclean spirit that has entered through the works of darkness, including witchcraft, for the Bible declares in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 that such practices are an abomination to the Lord. We command these spirits to be bound and cast into the abyss, for Jesus has given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet (Romans 16:20).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for Your protection and Your promise to deliver us from evil. Lord, we ask that You bind every tormenting spirit attacking [this individual], every unclean spirit that has entered through the doors of witchcraft or any other form of darkness. We command these spirits to be loosed from their hold and sent back to the pit of hell, where they belong, in Jesus’ name. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers and protects [this individual], and no weapon formed against them shall prosper.
Father, we ask that You fill [this individual] with Your Holy Spirit, bringing peace, comfort, and strength. Surround them with Your angels to guard and protect them, as it is written in Psalm 91:11-12: "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Lord, we pray for a hedge of protection around [this individual], their mind, their body, and their spirit. Let Your light shine in the darkness and drive out every shadow of fear or oppression.
We also pray for discernment and wisdom for [this individual], that they may recognize any open doors in their life that have allowed the enemy access. Show them any areas where they need to repent, renounce, or seek deliverance. Lead them to godly counsel and fellowship with believers who can stand with them in prayer and support. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we declare victory over every attack of the enemy. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the authority we have in Christ to overcome. May [this individual] walk in the freedom and peace that only You can provide. We trust in Your promises and declare that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, putting on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:13-18). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. Renounce any involvement, past or present, with occult practices, witchcraft, or anything that does not align with God’s Word. Fill your mind with Scripture and worship, for the enemy flees at the sound of praise (Psalm 8:2). Remember, Jesus has already won the victory, and through Him, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We hear the weight in what you’ve written, the sense of being harassed and worn down by something you can’t see but deeply feel. That kind of ongoing spiritual pressure can be exhausting and isolating, and we’re sorry you’re going through it.
One of the most important things to remember in this battle is that you don’t have to face it alone. Jesus has already won complete victory over every dark power, and His authority is your shield. Practically, it often helps to involve a few mature, prayerful believers from your church, a pastor or a trusted prayer team who can pray with you, in person, with gentle persistence. There is real strength in having other voices agree together in Christ’s name, and having someone walk alongside you afterward can help guard against that feeling of isolation.
As you press into prayer, we‘d also gently encourage you not to become overly preoccupied with naming or tracking every spirit. Instead, keep your focus anchored on Jesus, on His goodness, His promises, and His finished work. Fill your mind and home with worship, Scripture, and truth. The enemy’s roar is loud, but it is still just noise before our King.

Bound and burned they must be, for our deliverance is from the Lord alone. "He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of God's dear Son." It is because of his supreme darkness of mind and spirit that Satan is the boldest of all spirits in contending with the God of Heaven and earth. Beware of the brow of brass! Yet, go speak to the winds, spread your griefs to the pitiless sea, for God’s ear is not shut, and He will move his arm to work deliverance for thee. I stayed at the brook Jabbok, and I said, ‘Lord, give deliverance from him whom I think bloodthirsty.’ I crossed the brook full of fear and trembling, but tell it, O let it be known for the comfort of others in like trouble with me: I met my brother Esau, and he fell upon my neck and kissed me.
The Spirit of the Lord could do it in a moment, He might have convinced all men of the folly of idolatry, silently breathing upon human minds they might have been convicted of sin and turned to the great Father of Spirits. But faint hearts must be encouraged and drowsy spirits aroused, as we hear the Lord say, "My spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not." The clock of mercy struck in Heaven the hour and moment of my deliverance, for the time had come! Thus had the eternal purpose of Jehovah decreed it!
He that is in Christ discerneth spirits, and separateth between the excellent and the reprobate. Depressed spirits cannot lift their thought so high as to think of the gold of increased joy, or the silver of enlarged knowledge, or the jewels of holy graces. But He feels that if he ever rises from his despondency, he can never dare to take an atom of the honor of deliverance to himself, it must be of Free Grace only. He can do nothing and he knows it! A person who has no experience of tribulation, what great deliverance has he to speak of? Such persons despise the afflicted and suspect the character of the choicest of men for lack of power to understand them. What does the man know about the sea who has only walked on the beach?
Therefore, your conduct after trouble must be declaration. "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." I do find that life and health often come to saints through briny tears, through the bruising of the flesh and the oppression of the spirit. The Father of our spirits corrects us only of necessity, a necessity to which He is too wise to close His eyes. Look then to your heavenly Father for sanctification and deliverance from the power of sin, altogether and alone. Deliverance is of the Lord but it must be accomplished by human instrumentality. So the man, Divinely strengthened by God, shoots the arrow and the deliverance comes.
O let that arrow fly toward the Syrian host! As it flies through the air, the Prophet says that that arrow is the arrow of the Lord's deliverance of His people. The Spirit could do it in a moment, yet He condescends to use the bow and the trembling hand. Cry mightily, stretch every sinew of the spirit, and though the evil spirits press hard upon thee, look for that deliverance which came when the Lamb was slain. Pharaoh held Israel captive during all the plagues, but he could not go beyond a certain point. Nobody would have thought of that way of the deliverance of a sinner from the pit of Hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it! He has found a ransom. So that it is a gift of Divine Love. Sinner, do not doubt your deliverance, for God has said it, "I have found a ransom." Let angels who have never fallen help us to sing in triumph over those fallen spirits from whom we have been rescued by Divine Grace. Let our gratitude be deeper; let our song be more jubilant.

You ask for prayer that God would bind tormenting spirits and cast them into hell. Yet consider whether you are not yourself more terrified of the enemy than of the God who has already conquered him. Fear of hell is profitable, as I have often taught, for nothing purges the soul so thoroughly as the remembrance of judgment. But this fear must lead you to examine your own heart, not to fix your gaze upon witches and their supposed power. Do you not know that the devil is a deceiver? He works upon the simple, making them ascribe his attacks to the course of the moon or to the malice of sorcerers, so that they might tremble before created things and neglect the state of their own souls. The evil spirit seizes his opportunity when he finds a man alone, isolated from the assembly of the faithful. Therefore, rather than seeking merely to have spirits bound by a word, cling to the fellowship of the Church, where the adversary dares not approach so boldly.
The affliction you suffer is not without purpose. God permits such trials that we should not trust in ourselves but in Him who raises the dead. You endured peril, even the shadow of death, so that you would learn to cry out with the Apostle, “We had the answer of death in ourselves.” This is gain, not loss. Do not spend your prayers demanding the immediate destruction of those spirits in the lake of fire; that judgment belongs to the Lord at the appointed time. Instead, pray to be delivered from every snare, from every devilish sin, and from every besetment of the adversary. For a man who raves in uncontrolled passion or uncleanness is in no way different from a demoniac, he has turned his own mouth and eyes into sewers. Cleanse the temple of your body first, and the unclean spirits will find no lodging there. The true deliverance from the curse and promotion to sonship came when you put on Christ and received the Spirit of adoption. If you have that, what can witches or the devil himself do to you? Let your prayer be that you may not enter into temptation, and then join your supplication with the whole Church, for they are helping together on your behalf by prayer.
