Too hot and stop neglect

Anonymous

Beloved of All
These handymen don't bother to get back to us on this urgent matter and praying this other one is more reliable with the right equipment Jesus protect us please in this miserable heat and send it back from the hades It came from and help to get some sleep.

We hear your frustration and exhaustion in this sweltering heat, and we stand with you in seeking God’s intervention. The neglect you’re experiencing from those who should be helping is deeply disappointing, and we understand how overwhelming it can feel when practical needs go unmet. Let us turn to the Lord together, trusting in His provision and protection.

First, we must acknowledge that all comfort and relief come from God alone. The heat you’re enduring is a reminder of how dependent we are on His mercy. The Bible tells us in Psalm 121:5-6, "The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night." Even in this discomfort, God is your shelter. We rebuke this oppressive heat in the name of Jesus, declaring that it has no authority over you. The enemy may seek to use this trial to wear you down, but we command relief and restoration in Jesus’ name.

We also lift up the practical matter of the handymen. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." It is not by human effort alone that this situation will be resolved, but by God’s divine intervention. We pray that the Lord would stir the hearts of those who are neglecting their responsibilities, that they would act with integrity and urgency. If they continue to fail, we ask that God would raise up someone reliable, someone equipped and willing to help, so that this burden may be lifted from you.

Sleep is a gift from God, and we know how precious it is, especially in times of stress. Psalm 4:8 says, "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you, Lord alone, make me live in safety." We pray that the Lord would calm your mind and body, that He would grant you restful sleep despite the heat and the worries of the day. We declare that anxiety will not rule over you, and that the peace of Christ will guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

We also want to gently remind you of the power in the name of Jesus. You mentioned His name in your request, and we are so grateful for that, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." It is only through Jesus that we have access to God’s throne of grace, and it is by His authority that we can rebuke the works of the enemy. We encourage you to continue calling on His name, not just in times of need, but in worship and gratitude, for He is worthy of all praise.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking for Your mercy and intervention. The heat is oppressive, and the neglect is weighing heavily on this dear one. We rebuke this heat in Jesus’ name, declaring that it has no power here. We ask that You would send relief, that the temperatures would drop, and that Your peace would fill this home.

Father, we pray for the handymen who have failed to act. Soften their hearts, Lord, and convict them of their responsibility. If they are not the ones You have chosen to help, then raise up someone who will be faithful, someone with the right tools and a heart to serve. Provide a solution quickly, Lord, so that this burden may be lifted.

We also ask for restful sleep, Father. Calm the mind and body of this dear one, and let Your peace cover them like a blanket. Remove all anxiety and worry, and replace it with trust in You. Help them to cast all their cares upon You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, we thank You for the name of Jesus, the name above all names. We declare that no weapon formed against this situation shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that Your will shall be done. Strengthen this dear one’s faith, and remind them that You are always near, even in the midst of trials.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Hold fast to God’s promises, dear one. He sees your struggle, and He is working even when you cannot see it. Continue to seek Him, and trust that He will bring resolution in His perfect timing. You are not alone in this.

The frustration of unreliable help and sleepless nights in this miserable heat is a heavy weight, and we care that you’re carrying it. We’ve asked the Lord alongside you to quiet the stress and send real relief.

If the heat feels unsafe, please reach out to a neighbor or your church, sometimes a cool place to rest or a trusted contact for a handyman can make a world of difference. Caring for your body is honoring to God, so if the heat leaves you feeling unwell, do see a doctor without delay.

Lord Jesus, you see the strain of waiting and the weariness of this sleep-thief heat. Protect this home, and send the right person with the right tools to get the work done soon. Let the cool of the night come, and grant the deep, untroubled sleep that only you can give. Surround them with your peace that doesn’t depend on circumstances, and let them wake refreshed. In your name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The oppressive heat that sears your brow and the neglect of men who should render service are but the chafing of this weary world upon your spirit. Yet lift your eyes higher, for the Lord is thy Keeper, and no handyman’s delay can thwart His purpose. Has He not said, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee”? The dry tree by divine grace shall flourish, and your present discomfort shall yet yield the peaceable fruit of righteousness if you commit it all into His pierced hands.

You cry for sleep, and well you may, for sleep is the sweet restorer of tired nature. But learn to distinguish between the sleep that God gives and the slumber that brings spiritual ruin. “So he giveth his beloved sleep”, the sleep of contentment, the sleep of security in Christ. Yet the Apostle warns, “Let us not sleep, as do others.” While you wait for the mercy of slumber upon your bed, be not drowsy toward the things of the soul. That you cannot rest in body must drive you to rest more fully in the Beloved, whose arms are never too weary to uphold His own.

Beware of speaking as though the heat came from the abyss and required sending back to it. The same sun that scorches you warms the earth for harvest, and the wind that fails to cool you is sent forth from His treasuries. Divine sovereignty orders every degree of the thermometer, and shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? Rather bless Him that He hath given you a frame that feels, for insensibility is worse than pain. And if your spirit is fretted by the unreliability of workmen, remember that the Lord is thy true Builder and Watchman; He neither slumbers nor sleeps. He shall raise up help at the appointed hour, with the right equipment, for the earth is His and the fullness thereof.

In the meanwhile, cast yourself upon the Shepherd’s care. The bleating of a sheep in the heat reaches His ear, and He will lead you beside the still waters of His promises. The more care you require, the more you shall have. Is He not the Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one? He will not neglect your urgent matter, for He cannot deny Himself. So lie down, not in complaint, but in submission, and He may grant you just enough slumber to prove that He giveth to His beloved even in the furnace. And if sleep tarries, let the night-watches be filled with prayer and meditation, and you shall find a rest deeper than any bodily repose, the peace which the world cannot give.

The heat you suffer and the neglect of those workmen are a heavy trial, but take heed lest this outward affliction cause a greater inward one. For as the body is parched and weary, so the soul, too, can fall into a drowsiness that leads to ruin. Sleep of the soul occasions our destruction, and there is need of continual watchfulness. Do not let this misery lull you into that evil slumber, where we forget the realities of our faith and open ourselves to the attacks of enemies. Let this season of discomfort be a call to rouse yourself, to shake off the drunkenness of worldly thoughts that weighs down the mind.

Consider what seems a small neglect from these handymen. We often disregard little sins and little slights, but such things, when neglected, quickly become great while we sleep. Do not let the frustration become a root of bitterness. Instead, remember the body of Christ, where the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee. The greater has need of the less, and every part is necessary. That other workman, for whom you pray he may be reliable and equipped, is also a necessary member for your present need. Pray not merely that he might come, but that you might receive him with patience as one sent, understanding that his reliability is a gift for which you depend on God.

You seek a return of the cool and the gift of sleep. Truly, rest for the body is a good thing. The saints among men lie down in sleep as decently as those who are awake, their rest composed and regular, their dreams not full of wild fancies. This is the effect of the orderly state of their souls, where the heart is not stifled by excess. But while you seek bodily relief, seek first that orderly soul. For as soon as such a one opens his eyes, he is immediately wakeful and collected. Physical sleep may still be withheld, but the soul can find its rest even in the fiery furnace of the day.

And in this, fix your hope not merely on a passing breeze or a repaired cooler. You cry out for Jesus to protect you and send this heat back from whence it came. He is the Good Shepherd who stands firm and never deserts His sheep. The one who truly guards our life is He who proved His love by laying down His mortal life to give us life immortal. If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, then we know that the Father spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all. Shall He not then, with Him, freely give us all things? He who calmed the storm and slept peacefully in the ship is able both to grant you bodily rest and, more importantly, to grant composure to your soul in the midst of the storm.

The handymen may fail, but the Lord who made a short work upon earth will not fail His faithful. Salvation is by a very short way, held in a few words: confess the Lord Jesus and believe God raised Him from the dead. In this faith, endure. Let your supplication be constant and your hope unwavering. For even this bodily relief will come for the sake of those who have need of your assistance, and for the comfort of others. Seek then your help where your true life is, with the King and the army of Angels, not merely in the repair of an earthly dwelling. He will either break the heat, or He will strengthen you to bear it, until that day when heat and toil are no more.
