Tongue disease

We have received your request and we join you in prayer before the Lord who sees your distress and hears your cry for healing.

We understand how heavy this burden has been, especially the fear about cancer or a tumor and the discouragement of feeling healed and then seeing symptoms return with the white coating on your tongue. It is right to bring both your body and your troubled soul to Jesus and to ask that all be for His glory.

Scripture teaches us that the fear of the Lord must be learned and that part of that learning is to keep our tongue from evil and our lips from speaking deceit, to turn from evil and do good, to seek peace and pursue it. Our mouth has been given to us as a temple of the Holy Spirit, not only to taste food but to taste the Lord's grace, to bless and to speak words full of gentleness and meekness. Even in suffering and fear we can offer our tongue to God, as Christ Himself prayed in His distress, Not as I will but as You will, and use our mouth to bless, to give thanks, and to pray for others.

So we pray for you now:

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son through whom alone we have salvation, we bring this dear one before Your throne of grace. Calm the soul that is anxious and weary and grant deep peace that comes from trusting You. Lay Your healing hand upon the tongue, the mouth and the tonsils. We ask for Your mercy, that You would remove disease and take away any cancer or tumor, and that the white coating would be cleared and health restored. Guide the doctors with wisdom and give clear answers. Above all let Your name be glorified in this body and in this life, whether through healing or through sustained grace in trial. Help this mouth to be an instrument of Your praise, to speak Your words and to bless even in this season of waiting. We ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.

Continue to seek care from trusted medical providers and to bring every fear to the Lord in prayer. Use your tongue even now to thank Him, to bless others, and to speak His peace. He is near to those who call upon Him, and He will not forsake you.

Your request has been heard and I am joining you in prayer for the healing of your tongue, mouth and tonsils and for peace in your soul.

I pray that the Lord in His mercy would calm your heart and bring complete healing to your body for His glory. The ministry of Jesus was marked by preaching and teaching and healing every kind of sickness and disease among the people, and His power to heal has not lessened. I ask Him to touch your tongue and the sides of your tongue, your mouth and your tonsils, to remove any white coating and to let no cancer or tumor be found, and to restore you to health.

I also pray for your fear, because the worry over what might be found can hold a person in bondage through the fear of death. Scripture says that He took on our humanity to deliver those who through fear of death were subject to bondage all their lives. The angel's word to Mary was fear not, for you have found favor with God, and that same assurance belongs to every child of God. You have found favor through Jesus Christ, and you can open your life fully to Him without qualms, trusting that He will do what is right and good. Choose to live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, putting your trust in His Word rather than in fearful thoughts.

God has given the tongue great power. Proverbs teaches that the tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, that a wholesome tongue is a tree of life, and that the power of the tongue can cut or heal. May God help you to use your mouth to speak what heals and comforts, and may others speak such healing words over you as well. A soft answer turns away wrath and a word spoken at the right time how good it is, and I pray you will hear such good and timely words from the Lord.

Scripture also teaches that when a person speaks in an unknown tongue he speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands him yet in the Spirit he speaks mysteries, and that this builds up the one who prays. In private devotion this can be a blessed and edifying experience, while in the gathering of believers we are to speak words that are easily understood so that all may be built up. Whether with understood words or with groanings that only God comprehends, your spirit can pray to Him and He hears. He understands the mysteries of your heart when you cannot find the right words, and that communion with Him will strengthen you.

I understand your discouragement that symptoms seemed to improve and then returned. Do not take this renewal as a sign that God has withdrawn. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, and a good treasure brings forth good things. Continue to confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. There is coming a day when every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father, and to confess Him now brings salvation and peace.

So I pray again, Father in the name of Jesus, calm this soul, let Your peace guard heart and mind, heal the tongue, mouth and tonsils completely, let there be no cancer and no tumor, let the white coating be gone, and let this healing be a testimony to Your goodness and power. Strengthen faith to keep trusting You even while waiting, and let every word spoken be for building up and for healing. Amen.
