Unfortunately, it IS renewed, but it seemed like I was healed

We hear your cry and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord, asking for His healing touch upon your tongue, mouth and tonsils and for His perfect peace to calm your soul. We understand how distressing it is when you thought you were healed and then the symptoms returned, including that white coating on the sides of your tongue, and how the fear of cancer or a tumor can weigh so heavily on your heart. We stand with you in asking that this trial would be for His glory and that you would know His presence and comfort even in this uncertainty.

We are reminded of the promises of God for our healing and our peace. He says in Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. And in Psalm 103:2-3 Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. He is Yahweh who heals us as He declared in Exodus 15:26 I am Yahweh who heals you. For the fear and anxiety that troubles your soul we cling to Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And also Isaiah 41:10 Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We also encourage you to continue to seek wise medical counsel alongside your prayer, for God often works through the hands of physicians and dentists to bring healing and to give a clear diagnosis and peace of mind. Do not carry this burden alone but keep casting your cares upon Him, trusting His perfect will and timing even when healing seems delayed or symptoms return. He is near to you and He hears every prayer offered in the name of Jesus.

Father in heaven we lift up our dear one to You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We ask for Your mercy and healing power to rest upon their tongue, mouth and tonsils. We pray that You would remove this disease and the white coating and restore complete health to the tissues of the mouth. We pray in Jesus name that there would be no cancer and no tumor found, and that every cell would be healthy and whole according to Your design. Lord calm their soul and quiet every fear with Your perfect peace that passes all understanding. Strengthen their faith when discouragement comes from this renewal of symptoms and remind them that You are still the Healer and that You are working all things for good and for Your glory. Grant wisdom to any doctors or dentists who examine them and let the report be one that brings relief and gives You praise. We ask that You would be glorified in this body and in this testimony, whether through instant healing or through sustained grace in the journey. We trust You and we thank You for hearing us and for Your unfailing love. Amen.

It can help to write down when the coating appears, any pain or other changes, and questions you want to ask, and to bring that with you. You do not have to carry the waiting and wondering alone, please let a trusted person or pastor know how you are doing as well.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see this mouth and throat concern and the anxiety it brings. Calm the heart, grant peace that steadies, guide the doctors with wisdom, and bring healing according to Your will. Let Your presence be near and Your glory known in this. Amen.

Your cry has come before us and we have heard the heaviness of your soul with this renewed affliction of the tongue, mouth and tonsils, and the fear that has returned with it. To have hoped you were healed and then to feel the trouble renewed is a sore trial, and we bear your burden with you before the throne of grace.

There is a word for such an hour as this, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee." This perfect peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of Christ in trouble. As we have often said, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even in this dark world of sin and sorrow. When duties press and sorrows surge round, to do the will of Jesus and to stay the mind upon Him, this is rest. We pray that the Lord will calm your soul with that peace which is a present possession, to be enjoyed even while the body waits for healing.

We are told that the leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only His fruit but His leaves have virtue in them. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when He healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, showing that pardon and healing are one in His hand. It is that touch of personal faith which brings peace to the soul. If you will trust Him, you shall have peace, and whether He heals by a word or by means, all healing flows from Him who bore our sicknesses.

Therefore we say to you as the Lord says so often in His Word, Fear not. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. Fear not, for I am with thee. Fear weakens and dishonors God, for it doubts the arm that piled the heavens. He who whispers Fear not is not merely a preacher but Jesus Himself, who lays His right hand upon His fallen servant and says, Fear not. Let us labor to get rid of fear by trusting in promised strength.

We now pray for you as you have asked.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this suffering one. Calm the soul that is tossed and speak perfect peace to the heart that trusts in Thee. Lay Thy healing hand upon the tongue, the mouth and the tonsils. If it be Thy will and for Thy glory, remove this disease, take away the white coating, and let no cancer or tumor be found. Let the report be for Thy glory and for the comfort of this Thy child. Forgive sin, and let pardon bring healing, for with Thy stripes we are healed. Keep the mind stayed on Christ, and keep this one in perfect peace through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we ask it. Amen.

We encourage you to keep your mind stayed upon Christ, to hear His Word by which faith comes, and to seek also the help of the physician, for the Lord often works by means, while your chief trust remains in Him who alone can make whole.

Your prayer has been heard and I am joining you in bringing it before the Lord with compassion.

I understand how heavy this burden has been, the longing for healing in your tongue, mouth and tonsils, the anxiety as you wait, and the disappointment of feeling healed and then seeing the symptoms return with the white coating again. It is right to bring both your body and your soul to Jesus, asking Him to calm your heart even as you ask for healing.

God gave us the mouth and tongue for a holy purpose, to give thanks to Him, to bless and to build up others, and to be a temple of the Holy Spirit. When we offer our mouths to Him in this way, we honor Him, whether in health or in trial. Your desire that any healing be for His glory is itself a beautiful offering, and He hears that desire.

Let us pray together:

Lord Jesus Christ, You know this suffering intimately. We ask You to calm this troubled soul and grant Your perfect peace that passes understanding. Lay Your healing hand upon this tongue, mouth and tonsils. We ask for Your mercy and for complete healing according to Your will, for Your glory. We pray that there would be no cancer and no tumor found, and that the white coating on the sides of the tongue would be gone. Restore health, take away fear, and let this mouth be used to give thanks and to speak Your goodness. We trust Your love and Your power, and we ask all this in Your holy name, Jesus. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord daily, asking Him to keep your mouth pure and filled with thanksgiving and prayer, even in this time of waiting. Cast your anxiety upon Him, for He cares for you, and keep trusting His goodness whether healing comes quickly or through a longer path. Please also continue to seek wise medical care and let doctors examine you thoroughly, while we continue to pray that the Lord will work through every means for your healing and peace.

May the Lord strengthen your faith, guard your heart from fear, and let your life and your words give glory to Him.
