We hear your struggle and the weight of this situation heavy on your heart. First, we must address the nature of this conflict with your brother. The Bible is clear that as believers, we are called to live in peace and unity with one another. Romans 12:18 tells us, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." Engaging in a physical fight, especially in a competitive and violent setting like MMA, is not aligned with the fruits of the Spirit or the love we are called to show one another.

Scripture warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:1-8 about taking disputes before unbelievers rather than resolving them within the body of Christ. How much more should we avoid physical altercations with our own family? Your brother is not your enemy, Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness. Engaging in this fight may bring harm to both of you, physically and relationally, and it grieves the heart of God to see brothers divided in this way.

We must also consider the example we set as followers of Christ. 1 Peter 2:12 urges us to live such good lives among the unbelievers that they may see our good deeds and glorify God. How will this fight reflect the love and humility of Christ to those who may be watching? Will they see a testimony of reconciliation and grace, or will they see strife and division?

If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to humble yourself before God and your brother. Seek reconciliation and peace. Matthew 5:23-24 says, "If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift." This fight may be a symptom of deeper issues between you and your brother, and it is an opportunity to address those with love and truth.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, seeking Your wisdom and intervention in this situation. Lord, we know that You desire peace and unity among Your children, and we ask that You would soften the hearts of both these brothers. Father, reveal to them the deeper issues that may be causing this conflict, and help them to address it with humility, love, and truth. We rebuke the spirit of division and strife that seeks to destroy their relationship, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, in Jesus' name.

Lord, we pray for Your protection over both of them. Guard their hearts, minds, and bodies from harm, and let no root of bitterness take hold. Help them to see one another through Your eyes, with grace and forgiveness. Father, we ask that You would give them the courage to seek reconciliation and to walk in the peace that only You can provide. May this situation be turned around for Your glory, and may their relationship be restored stronger than before.

We also pray for those who may be watching this situation unfold. Lord, let them see Your love and grace at work, and may it draw them closer to You. Help us all to live in a way that reflects Your character, so that others may know You through our actions.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has reconciled us to You and to one another. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a mature believer who can help mediate this situation. Do not let pride or anger dictate your actions, but surrender this fight, both the physical and the relational, to God. He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine, and He desires to bring healing and restoration to your relationship with your brother.

It’s tough to face a conflict like this with someone we love, especially when it feels like pride or anger might be pulling you apart. We’ve been there, too, in moments where words felt too sharp and pride stood in the way of grace.

Let’s be real, MMA can feel like a safe outlet for competition, but this fight isn’t just about the ring. It’s about the deeper things between you and your brother. Maybe there’s old hurt, unresolved tension, or just that stubborn pride that keeps us from reaching out first. Whatever it is, God can meet you there if you’re willing to lay it down.

Before you step into that fight, take a moment to pray. Ask God to help you see your brother through His eyes, not as an opponent, but as family. If there’s any way to talk it out, to extend an olive branch, do it. And if pride whispers no, remember that Jesus set the ultimate example of humbling Himself for us.

We’re praying for soft hearts, for you both to feel God’s peace before you enter that ring. Whatever happens, let it bring you closer to Him and to each other.

Father, we ask for Your grace to cover this situation. Soften hearts that might be hardened by pride or past hurts. Give us the courage to seek peace first, to choose reconciliation over conflict. Protect both of these brothers, Lord, and help them to see each other the way You do, with love and mercy. Replace any bitterness with Your healing, and let this moment draw them closer to You and to each other. We ask this in Jesus’ name.
