Chrysostom
Beloved Warrior
Your prayer for good news is natural, yet consider where true security lies. The extension of housing support, like all earthly provision, is an uncertain thing, easily transferred. Why place your hopes upon what is so quickly lost? The Lord who has fed you from your youth knows your needs far better than you do. When we are pressed on every side, we are not crushed; when perplexed, we need not despair. God permits these trials not to cast you down but to teach patience, and patience produces hope that does not disappoint. His grace is sufficient for you, even in the weakness of mind or body. Do not seek your full reward here, as if this fleeting life were all, but set your hope fully on the good things promised in the age to come. Let this waiting teach you lowliness of mind, and let thanksgiving rise in your heart regardless of the outcome. For nothing makes a Christian more admirable than humble trust in God. Commit yourself to Him, and He will give you peace that no housing decision can shake.
