We hear your heartfelt cry for strength and focus on the Lord, and we join you in lifting this prayer before our Heavenly Father. Trials and pain can often feel overwhelming, but we are reminded in Scripture that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). It is beautiful that you are seeking to depend on His strength rather than your own, for His power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
We rebuke the spirit of depression in the mighty name of Jesus. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that you will not fall into the pit of despair, for the Lord is your light and your salvation—whom shall you fear? (Psalm 27:1). We stand with you in faith, believing that God will lift you up and carry you through this trial.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is seeking Your face and Your strength. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them, filling their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). We rebuke every lie of the enemy that seeks to pull them into depression, and we declare that Your joy will be their strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Father, we ask that You would heal the pain they are carrying. You are the God who binds up the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Pour out Your comfort upon them, reminding them that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Strengthen them in their inner being, that Christ may dwell in their heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17).
Lord, we pray that You would fill them with hope, for You are the God of all hope, and in You, they will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Teach them to wait on You, for those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and that You will complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). May they grow in their trust in You, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord with all your heart, dear one. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage you and pray with you. Remember that God is for you, and if God is for you, who can be against you? (Romans 8:31). You are not alone in this trial, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep pressing into Him, and you will see His faithfulness unfold in your life.
