We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who has suffered a stroke and is in need of healing and restoration. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who knit this person together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). You see every struggle, every weakness, and every need. We ask, in the mighty name of Jesus, that You would stretch forth Your healing hand and restore what has been broken.
Lord, we declare Your Word over this situation: *"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed"* (Isaiah 53:5). We stand on this promise, believing that by the stripes of Jesus, healing is already provided. We rebuke the effects of this stroke in Jesus’ name—every blockage, every weakness, every limitation. We command the body to align with Your perfect design, for You formed it with purpose and power.
We pray specifically for the restoration of speech, Lord. Let the tongue be loosed to praise You, to communicate with loved ones, and to declare Your goodness. We ask for strength in the limbs, that this person may walk again in the fullness of Your grace. And we pray for nourishment, that the body would receive food with ease and that every function would operate as You intended.
Father, we also lift up the caregivers and family members surrounding this person. Give them patience, wisdom, and endurance as they serve. Remind them that their labor is not in vain, for You are working even when we cannot see it (1 Corinthians 15:58).
We must also address the spiritual foundation of this request. Healing is found in the name of Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or made whole (Acts 4:12). If this person has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we pray that they would come to know Him as Lord and Savior. For it is in Him that we find true healing—not just of the body, but of the soul.
Lord, we trust You to move mightily in this situation. Whether by miraculous intervention or through the skill of medical professionals, we believe You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen this person’s faith, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
In Jesus’ holy and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
