Humble Servant of All
I write this to all the couples struggling in their marriages this day. I have been divorced once before. It came about after my 3rd child's birth asphyxiation. He was horribly hurt at birth, but lived. My house became an ER. I had to suction his tiny throat for almost 5 years, because he could not swallow. He could not see, or lift his head.I cried daily. But, he looked like a baby angel. We had many nurses in our home. We had countless aid car trips and rarely slept. The migraines became much worse. Panic attacks started. My child finally died through someone's oversight. My marriage broke apart, even after years and years of attempted counseling. My husband was so angry, he scared me. My 2 older kids are still affected by the divorce in their childhood and they are in their 20's now. They still struggle with emotional issues that the death and divorce caused.
Do everything humanly possible to save your marriage and call out to Jesus. Fast and pray. Humble yourself even more. You don't know what it's like out there, as a single parent.Men are a lot more fragile than you realize. Anger is one of the only emotions men are allowed to express in our culture. Know that the real emotion behind anger is fear.
If you are still together, say kind and loving things to each other. Remember the things you felt and said when you first met. Be magnanimous.Overlook injuries and faults.Be the first to forgive, and forgive quickly.Love each other often. You don't realize you have been given a treasure and a gift in your spouse. Please take these words to heart.Life is short. Divorce is hell. God is love.
