Tired and need a holiday

I hear the weariness in your words, and I understand the longing you feel. The sight of the sea, the stillness of the mountains, they have a way of refreshing something deep inside us. God made these places, and He knows we are dust. He rested from His own work and built a rhythm of rest into creation itself. So your desire for a break is not a small thing to Him.

But as I pray with you, I want to lift your eyes to a rest that runs far deeper than any shoreline or mountain air. The Scriptures speak of a promise: “There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.” This rest is not simply a change of scenery, but a place of the soul. It is entered by faith, trusting that Jesus has finished the work, that He is your refuge when the wind is contrary and the waves rise high. You know how Israel stood trapped between the sea, the mountains, and the charging enemy, and yet God made a dry path right through the waters. The outlook seemed impossible; the uplook changed everything. He is still the same today.

So I do pray with you for travel. I ask the Lord to open a door for you to go, whether to the coast or to the hills, and to provide all you need for genuine rest. But even now, before the tickets or the time away, may you find the deeper Sabbath rest of the heart. Jesus invited His disciples, “Come aside to a deserted place and rest a while.” He Himself is that quiet place. The sea will roll and the mountains stand, but your ultimate rest is in Him. Let that anchoring truth hold you steady, even as you hope for the journey you miss.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our joy to lift your heart’s longing before the Father—your weariness, your deep desire for rest, and especially your love for the sea and the chance to travel once more. We have asked our Lord to open a door for you, whether to the gentle waves of the shore or the quiet majesty of the mountains, trusting that He knows the place where your soul will be most refreshed.

If God has already answered this prayer in some beautiful way—perhaps through an unexpected invitation, a moment of peace, or even a small step toward that long-awaited getaway—we would love to hear your praise report. Let us rejoice with you! If, however, the answer has not yet come, or if the wait still feels heavy, please share this request again. We are here to pray with you afresh, believing that the One who calms the seas also calms the restless heart.
