Tired and need a holiday

Beloved of All
I haven't been to the seaside for seven years, nor have I had a holiday for two years. I miss the sea and travelling a little. Please pray in Jesus name that God provides me with an opportunity to rest somewhere else (near the sea or in the mountains). You can also pray for inner rest if you wish, but if you really want to pray with me, then pray for travel.Thank you!

We hear your weariness and longing for rest, both in body and in spirit. The sea and the mountains are gifts from our Creator, places where we can witness His majesty and find renewal. We join you in praying for an opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life and experience the refreshment that comes from time in His creation.

Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, Your Son, our Savior. You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps, yet You also invite us to rest in Your presence. Lord, we lift up this dear one who is weary and in need of a holiday. You know the longing of their heart to see the sea again, to feel the breeze, and to find peace in Your handiwork. We ask that You provide an opportunity for them to travel, whether to the seaside or the mountains, so they may rest and be renewed in body, mind, and spirit.

Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Lord, we claim that promise for this child of Yours. Let them find rest in You even as they wait for this opportunity. We pray that You would open doors that no one can shut, provide the means, and make a way where there seems to be no way. Let this time of rest be a testament to Your faithfulness and love.

We also pray for inner rest, for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let them cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). May they find joy in the journey, whether it is the journey to a physical place of rest or the journey of trusting You day by day.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of discouragement or weariness that would seek to steal their hope. We declare that those who wait for You shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). We speak life and restoration over them in Jesus’ name.

May this time of waiting draw them closer to You, deepening their trust in Your provision and timing. Let them find contentment in You, even as they look forward to the rest You have prepared for them. We thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer according to Your perfect will.

In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the weariness in your words, and that deep longing for the sea after so many years away. That pull toward creation, the waves, the mountains, isn’t frivolous. Our bodies and souls were made for rest and wonder, and going too long without them leaves a quiet ache. You’ve been faithful in your daily life, and it’s okay to want a real change of scene, a chance to breathe salt air or mountain wind and let your mind unspool.

Sometimes the hardest part is giving ourselves permission to want what we want. So we’re glad you asked, and we’ll ask with you. Not just for inner rest, though we trust God will give that too, but for the tangible, logistical provision of a getaway. It might not look like a grand tour; it may be a few days at a friend’s cottage, a weekend by a lake, a simple train ride to somewhere unfamiliar. The point isn’t the extravagance, it’s the disconnection and the quiet joy of being somewhere else. As you wait, consider even small steps: looking at maps, setting aside a modest amount when you can, or mentioning the hope to a trusted friend who might encourage you in planning. God often meets us in the movement, not just the outcome.

Father, you know this tiredness and this longing for the sea. You formed the oceans and planted the hills, and you delight when your children find joy in what you’ve made. We ask that you open a door for a true holiday, a chance to travel, to rest near water or green slopes. Provide the time, the resources, and the clarity to step away. Guard the days that might be sacrificed to busyness, and give a gift of lingering someplace new. In the meantime, hold this heart steady with the hope of a coming refreshment. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The soul, when long confined to a narrow round, must ache for the sea’s wide breathing and the mountain’s silent strength. That desire is no ungrateful murmuring; our Lord Himself called the twelve from their labors that they might rest a while. I will gladly bow with you and ask in Jesus’ name that the Father, who owns the cattle on a thousand hills, would open a door for travel, that He would grant you days beside the surf or among the peaks. He who holds the waters in the hollow of His hand can surely bring you to the shore.

Yet I must press upon you a mightier rest. The rest Christ gives is not bound to place; it is rest on the wing, rest while bearing the yoke. “I will give you rest,” He says, and that rest is perfect even now. Do you not know that we who have believed do enter into rest, even while the body toils? The mountains that seem to divide you from your longed-for scene, pray that He would come over them like a young hart, leaping to meet your heart. And when He draws near, the soul finds a calm no ocean can offer.

Therefore pray for travel, and I will pray with you. But take care lest you think a mere change of outward place can satisfy a spirit made for God. The Lord may indeed bless you with a journey; He may cause you to lie down in fresh pastures for a season. It is no small mercy to behold His works of old. Yet remember, your deepest rest is always to be found by returning to Him. “Return unto thy rest, O my soul,” is a word for the believer weary in body but safe in Christ.

May the Lord then provide the means for your bodily refreshment, and in that gift, may He give you such sweet communion that every hill and wave shall speak of His love. And whether at home or abroad, may you prove that His rest is glorious, a foretaste of that eternal Sabbath when toil and absence shall cease. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You tell me you are weary and need a holiday, that you have not seen the seashore for seven years, nor rested from your labors for two. The longing for the sight of the sea and the freshness of mountain air is natural; our bodies grow tired, and even the beasts find their lairs. But forget not what the prophet sings: “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, He leadeth me beside the still waters.” In that place there is no sorrow nor sighing, and there alone is true rest. Do not set your heart on earthly travel as the thing that will revive you, for this life is a dream, and its pleasures flee away when the day dawns. How many who live in fine houses and journey from one delight to another are yet pierced by countless darts of bitterness! The rest you truly need is that which remains for the people of God, into which we must labor to enter by faith, lest we fall after the same example of unbelief.

Yet I do not forbid the refreshment of the body, for the flesh needs care for health, not for wantonness. I shall pray, as you ask, that God in His mercy provide you an opportunity to rest in a place that calms your spirit, by the sea or among the hills, if it be for your profit. But far more do I pray that you find the rest of Christ within your soul, the still waters that never run dry. For whether you travel or stay home, if you possess the charity which is the more excellent way, you will have a feast that surpasses all earthly scenes. Let this be your chief desire: to enter the heavenly rest, where no weariness can touch you. And in the meantime, cast your cares upon Him who clothes the grass and feeds the birds, for He will surely supply what is needful for this passing life.

It is right to bring this weariness to the Lord. The longing to feel a sea breeze or to see the mountains speak of a deep need, not merely for a change of scenery, but for a true rest that restores the whole person. The trouble with seeking that rest only in a place is that the place itself cannot give it. You can travel to the most beautiful shore and still arrive with the same anxious, tired heart.

The promise we have been given is of a far more certain rest. It is the rest that comes through faith alone. Believing, we enter His rest. This is not an escape we arrange when we can afford it or when the schedule clears. It is entering into the finished work of Christ, where we cease from our own striving as God ceased from His. That is the only place you will ever truly rest. You cannot find it by your own efforts, your careful planning, or even a long overdue holiday.

I understand the desire for a tangible provision, and we should absolutely ask God for it. He is the one who provides. Yet, I often find in my own life that I do not rest on Him until every other possibility has been exhausted. I will try every other idea first, and then, only when my own resources are spent, do I finally turn and trust. God, in His mercy, often allows us to reach the end of ourselves so we may learn that lesson. The real peace comes from that complete yielding to Him, whether the mountains before us are physical or spiritual.

So yes, let us pray for a season of refreshing in a beautiful place. But let us pray with the understanding that the truest rest will be found inside the ark of faith while you wait for that provision. The weary soul finds rest not merely in silenced circumstances, but in hearing the voice of the Spirit instead of the oppressor of anxiety. The rest He gives is the refreshing that remains, even when the date of a trip is unknown.

Pray with me. Lord, You know this longing for the sea and the mountains because You made them. If it pleases You, open a door for travel and provide the means for genuine physical rest. Yet, even while that door is still closed, teach us to rest on You. Bring us into that rest that remains for Your people, where we trust not in what we can see or arrange, but in the completed work of Jesus. Quiet the inner turmoil and let us cease from our own works, resting where You rest. We ask this in Jesus' name.
