Tired and more tired. Almost done

Your tiredness and honesty have been heard, and thank you for sharing so plainly what you are carrying. To have no food in the house, to face fraud and collusion over rent arrears, to be pressured to sign a false document, to be pushed out of work you held for more than two decades, to live with abuse that has worn down your body, and now to hear from doctors about a blood disorder that threatens your life, all while having no income and no clear way forward, would leave anyone exhausted and without hope. It is right to bring that weariness to God exactly as it is.

Scripture gives us the story of Job because he knew that kind of stripping. He lost his possessions, his family, his health, and even the understanding of his friends, until he was left with only the bare awareness of his own being. He was not suffering because he had done some great hidden wrong, though his friends insisted that must be the reason and offered that kind of miserable comfort. He was a man who had done nothing to provoke what came upon him, and he did not understand why it was happening. In his pain he cursed the day he was born, yet he did not curse God. He spoke honestly out of deep distress, and he spoke about death as if it would be a quiet place where trouble stops and everyone rests. He was speaking about things he did not truly know.

God later answered Job and showed him this. He asked Job, have the gates of death been opened to you, have you seen the doors of deep darkness. Job had imagined what death would be, but he had not seen it. What Job did not have, we now have more clearly in the word of God. Apart from the revelation of Jesus Christ, life can seem dark and the only hope is a question. With Christ, we have assurance. There is a mediator between God and man, one who can lay his hand upon both, and that is Jesus himself. Through his death and resurrection we have a hope that is not a guess about the grave, but a promise of life beyond it. This does not make present pain small, but it means your pain is not the end of the story and your life is not forgotten.

The Bible also pulls back the curtain that Job could not see. There was a hedge around Job, and the adversary could only do what God permitted, no more. That does not explain every detail of why hardship comes, but it tells us that evil and injustice are limited and that God remains sovereign even when people act corruptly. The case workers and the property management who have acted falsely toward you are seen by God. He is just, and he is not unaware of fraud or abuse. Your suffering is not proof that God has turned against you or that you are being punished for some secret fault. The friends of Job were wrong when they said that, and that same reasoning would be wrong now.

You described time as dragging and hope as gone, as if darkness has settled with no way out. Job felt that too. He said his days moved swiftly and yet also felt endless, that he could see no light ahead. It is often when a person reaches the bottom, with nothing left to lean on, that he looks up. That looking up is not a catchphrase. It is turning to the living God who invites the weary to call upon him.

When you have no food, the word of God becomes even more precious. Job said he treasured God's words more than his necessary food. That is not a denial of your very real need for daily bread, which God knows you need and which he tells us to ask for, but it is a reminder that his word can sustain your inner person when your body is weak. Do not despise his correction and do not grow weary under his hand, as Proverbs and Hebrews teach. That does not mean every hardship is his chastening, but it means he can use even these hard days to draw you close and to form endurance, and he will not waste your tears.

I am praying for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, I bring this tired one before you. You see the fraud and the false accusations, the hunger, the abuse, the loss of work, the fear over this blood disorder, and the exhaustion that says there is no hope left. Have mercy. Provide what is needed for daily bread and for housing, and bring truth to light where lies have been told. Give wisdom and favor with those who handle the application for help, and open a door for honest work or provision according to your will. Touch this body, and give skill to doctors and comfort in pain. Most of all, reveal yourself as near, as the one who hears honest lament, who is just, and who has provided a mediator in Jesus. Give a quiet assurance of your presence and your word, and keep this dear one through each day by your grace. Amen.

If you are able, keep bringing your honest needs to God in prayer and keep listening to his word, even a few verses at a time. If there are trusted believers nearby, let them know of your practical needs for food and help with paperwork, so they can stand with you. You are not alone before God, and your cry has been heard.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been continuing to lift you up before the Lord and we remember how you shared that you are tired and more tired and almost done. We have brought before the Lord the heavy burden you described, the rent arrears and the collusion of the two case workers who attributed the property managements unauthorized amount to your name, and the attempt to have you sign an unauthorized document to cover that fraud. We have prayed for truth to be revealed and for justice and protection over you in that situation.

We have also prayed for your daily provision as you shared that you have no food in the house and zero income and cannot find another job after being pushed out of your job of over two decades. We ask the Lord to provide for your needs and to open a door for work as He promises in Philippians 4:19. We have lifted up your physical and emotional exhaustion from the abuse you endured and the deterioration of your health, and the recent blood disorder where the doctors report said you may not make it. We pray for the Lords healing touch and sustaining strength, and that He would be close to you as He promises in Psalm 34:18.

We heard your heart when you said you do not have hope anymore and that you did not want a lot of modern catchphrases but sincere prayer. We have honored that and we continue to pray honestly and earnestly that the Lord would restore hope to you and remind you that He sees you in your weariness and that He will strengthen you as written in Isa 41:10.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
