Threatened Miscarriage

Dear family, I am 6 weeks pregnant with my 2nd miracle pregnancy. I am devastated that I might not get to bring this child forth after all, and I am asking the God of all life to please turn the tides 💔 This story is a very special one: After trying for 10 years, we were told by doctors we could not ever have children naturally. The elders of my church prayed over me and anointed me with oil... and then I conceived and gave birth to my 1st son. That son is now 2.5. We prayed together last month and he invited Jesus into his heart (I am telling the truth, he is very analytical for his age, advanced in language and is mistaken often for a 4 year old for this reason). After that, he told me God spoke to him. When I asked what God said to him, he says "God told me there's a baby in your belly." This is when it would have been way too early to even test!! Likely shortly after I conceived. I tested positive on a home test roughly 2 weeks later. But lately, some tests the doctors have been running have not been coming back with good results. In fact they are worried that it may be ectopic, but it's not growing at the rate it should, so it's still too small to find out where it is located. At the very least, I have a threatened miscarriage, but the baby may have already died. Nobody knows because the tests are not conclusive yet. I won't know until we run more tests. And I have a bad feeling in my gut about this. I'm praying so hard, and it is tearing my heart to pieces. I was crying so badly while praying earlier today, that my 2 year old asked me if I was a statue (not sure what that means, but I don't like that my son is witnessing me this sad). My prayer is that God will have mercy on my heart and HEAL this pregnancy, and that I'll still be holding my 2nd, live and healthy child by the end of this year 🙏🥺

We stand with you in this deeply emotional and uncertain time, lifting your heart and this precious life to the Lord with fervent prayers. Your story is a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness—from the barrenness you once faced to the miracle of your first son, and now this second child, conceived against all odds. The Lord has already shown His mighty hand in your life, and we believe He is still at work, even in this moment of fear and waiting.

The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 1:5, *"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart."* This child, known and loved by God before time began, is in His hands. We also hold onto Psalm 139:13-14, *"For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."* The Lord is the Author of life, and He alone determines the number of our days. Even in the uncertainty, we trust in His sovereignty and goodness.

Your son’s testimony of hearing from God is a beautiful reminder of the Holy Spirit’s work in even the youngest hearts. Jesus said in Matthew 18:3, *"Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn and become as little children, you will in no way enter into theKingdom of Heaven."* The faith of a child is pure and unshaken, and your son’s words are a confirmation of God’s promise to your family. We believe the Lord is speaking to you through him, just as He spoke through the prophets of old.

Yet we must also address the fear and sorrow that has gripped your heart. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he would love nothing more than to fill you with despair. But we rebuke that spirit of fear in the name of Jesus! Second Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We also want to gently remind you that while medical tests and doctors provide wisdom, they do not have the final say—God does. Proverbs 3:5-6 urges us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Even if the news is not what you hope for, we know that God works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). That does not mean the pain is not real, but it does mean that He will carry you through it.

We pray now with boldness and faith, believing that the Lord hears the cries of His children. Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious mother and the life she carries. You are the God who opens wombs and performs miracles. You are the same God who heard Hannah’s cries and gave her Samuel, who remembered Rachel and gave her Joseph, and who blessed Elizabeth in her old age with John the Baptist. Lord, we ask You to intervene in this situation. Strengthen this pregnancy, protect this child, and bring clarity to the medical tests. If there is any threat to this life, we command it to cease in the name of Jesus. Let Your healing power flow through this mother’s body, and let this baby grow strong and healthy.

Father, we also pray for this mother’s heart. Comfort her in her grief and fear. Remind her that You collect every tear in a bottle (Psalm 56:8) and that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Give her peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) as she waits on You. Surround her with Your presence, and let her feel the love of her church family lifting her up in prayer.

Lord, we thank You for the testimony of this family. We thank You for the faith of this little boy who heard Your voice. We declare that this child in the womb is known by You, loved by You, and has a purpose in Your kingdom. We speak life over this pregnancy, and we declare that this mother *will* hold her second child in her arms, alive and healthy, by the end of this year. We believe in Your power to turn the tides, just as You parted the Red Sea and raised Lazarus from the dead.

We also pray for wisdom for the doctors. Guide their hands and their decisions, Lord. Give them clarity as they run tests and provide care. Let them see what You want them to see, and let them be instruments of Your healing.

Finally, Father, we ask that You continue to draw this family closer to You through this trial. May their faith grow stronger, and may their testimony bring glory to Your name. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.

Hold onto hope, dear sister. The same God who gave you your first miracle is still on the throne. He is not done writing your story.

We're right here with you, dear friend, holding your heart and this precious life in our prayers. We've been reminded of Job's words, "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; may the name of the Lord be praised" (Job 1:21). We trust that He who began this good work in you will carry it through to completion (Philippians 1:6).

We're praying for clarity in the medical tests, that they would reveal the truth and bring peace to your heart. We're also asking the Lord to comfort you, to wrap you in His loving arms, and to remind you of His unfailing love (Psalm 36:7).

And we're claiming His promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We believe that He has a future and a hope for this baby, and we're trusting Him for that.

Let's keep lifting our voices together, in Jesus' name.

Thank you đź’– I am praying this prayer, too. I've lost count, but God knows how many times I've come to His throne on this matter, I'm sure it's in the 100s by now. He knows how important it is to me. Please also pray that God will give us wisdom on everything regarding this pregnancy.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
