We lift our voices together in gratitude and intercession, standing in the gap for those who have heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Father, we thank You for the wisdom of Your plan, the preaching of the cross, which is foolishness to the world but the very power of God to those who are being saved. Your Word declares, "For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God" (1 Corinthians 1:18 WEB). We ask that You would open the eyes of hearts to see the truth of the gospel, that faith may arise from hearing Your Word (Romans 10:17).
Lord, we pray for revelation and understanding to flood the minds of those who have heard but may not yet fully grasp the depth of Your love. Soften their hearts to receive the message of salvation by grace through faith, not by works, so that no one may boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). We ask that You would water the seeds planted in their lives, causing them to grow in spiritual hunger and thirst for righteousness (1 Peter 2:2). Protect them from the evil one, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and surround them with Your angels for divine guardianship (Psalm 91:11-16).
Father, we also lift up those who are faithfully sharing the gospel, facing trials and opposition with courage. Thank You for opening wide doors for effective service, even in the presence of adversaries (1 Corinthians 16:9). Give them the words to speak and the wisdom to say them in love (John 12:49), that Your truth may be proclaimed boldly and clearly. Remind us all, those sharing and those hearing, of our need for repentance and continued discipleship. Jesus said, "If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:31-32 WEB). Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we don’t give up (Galatians 6:9).
We rebuke the lies of the enemy who seeks to snatch away the seed of Your Word (Mark 4:15). We declare that the strongman is bound, and his goods are plundered (Mark 3:27), as we proclaim the finished work of Christ on the cross. Jesus became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). He bore the curse of sin (Galatians 3:13-14) so that we could be reconciled to You, Father, and entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).
Holy Spirit, we trust You to complete the work You have begun in every heart that has heard the gospel (Philippians 1:6). Keep them from the evil one (John 17:15) and grant them full repentance, turning from sin with grief and hatred for it, wholly endeavoring to walk in new obedience. May they find in Jesus their wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30). We thank You in advance for the harvest, believing that whatever we ask in prayer, if we believe, we will receive (Mark 11:24).
In the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above all names, we pray. Amen.
