Thank You LORD for Your promise in James 1:5 which assures us that no matter what questions we may have concerning life’s situations, Your abiding compassion gives wisdom abundantly, without fault of judgement, condemnation or criticism. Thank You that in the absence of earthen parents; whether that absenteeism is physical, financial, emotional or spiritual, David reminds us that You are ALL things to Your people, even mother and father: Psalm 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me.
Clarification - Thank You for giving me clarification concerning the shame of my youth through the story of Tamar, 2 Samuel 13.
Navigation - Thank You that you didn’t leave me alone to figure out how get through the maze of familial dysfunction, but in Your infinite wisdom and concern, You charted a path that ultimately brought deliverance so that I did not have to die in the pit.
Counsel - Thank You that when the misguided counsel of men, though well meant, only served to keep me in bondage to those who said to my soul “Bow down, so that we may walk across;” Your counsel said, because You know the details, “free yourself,” Psalm 45:10-11 Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention: Forget, your people and your father’s house. Let the king be enthralled by your beauty; honor Him, for He is your Lord.
Thank You for Your testing and purging over the last year, through which you, irrefutably, revealed the truth about situations and relationships, which for years, I had not wanted to admit. Things are not always as they appear on the surface, especially in our families. We are not all created to walk the same path in life. Just because everybody is screaming “Beelzebub” in your direction, does not make it so. God says: “A person’s enemies will be those of their own households.” And if God said it, it’s true. Still, it can be difficult for others to see because they are not party to the details, so they often misjudge, which adds unnecessary burden to an already burdensome situation, particularly when the misjudgment comes from those whom God has placed in our lives to comfort and guide us as His sheep. But, I thank God for giving us another comforter, one who will remain with us forever: The Holy Spirit, which is the spirit of TRUTH.
Though some crosses are harder to bear than others, I thank God for teaching me, through my trials, that by submitting to His will, He has replaced my cross with a yoke much more easily borne.
THANK YOU LORD!
