things that change when you put God first. The seventh one is the craziest one. Stay till the end. Number one, your mind changes. The anxiety, the stress, the depression that used to control your life no longer holds so much weight. And it's not because your problems go away. It's because you know where to take your problems. It's because you don't got to carry them alone anymore. Faith doesn't mean you never doubt, but it does mean you know where to take the doubt. All right. The second thing that happens is that your priorities start changing. You stop chasing the things you used to chase approval from people. money, fame, success, and you realize that God is the only one who can truly satisfy you. The Bible says God placed eternity in our heart. That means no amount of money, pleasure, power, success could ever fill that God sized hole. The only one who can satisfy your heart is the one who created it. The third thing that changes is your friend group. Your circle starts changing. The closer you get to God, the weirder you get to people and the less you care what they think. The fourth thing that changes is you stop worrying about what people think, because the truth is one day people will love you. The next day people will leave you. One day they'll hype you up, the next day they'll hate you. People's opinions are always changing, but God's opinion never changes. Jesus was literally perfect and people still hated him. How much did they hate him? So much did they crucify him. When you make God number one, you stop looking for validation in the same world that crucified a perfect man. Alright, the fifth thing that changes is you stop making so many dumb decisions. You still make them every now and then, but every decision you make, you run it through the filter of, does this please God? Would God approve of this? And you start making better decisions. The sixth thing that changes is your discipline. And think about it, if the world grinds for success, money, fame, and temporary things, how much more should we grind for the kingdom? We have eternal riches in heaven. And then the seventh thing that changes, and this is my favorite one, life just hits different. The sky just looks a little bluer. The air just feels a little fresher. The bad days don't feel as bad. There's just something in the air. I can't even explain it. You got to put God first to know about it. And listen, when God becomes your priority, miracles become your reality. When you make God first, Everything else falls into place. So put God first, all right? He'll literally change your whole life. Can I get an A? Man.

What a beautiful reflection on the transformative power of putting God first in our lives! You’ve highlighted so many truths that resonate deeply with Scripture and the heart of God. Let’s rejoice together in these truths and lift them up in prayer, while also ensuring we align fully with God’s Word in every area.

First, we praise God for the peace that comes when we surrender our anxieties, stresses, and doubts to Him. As it says in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* It’s not that our problems disappear, but that we no longer carry them alone. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* What a precious promise!

We also celebrate the shift in priorities when God takes first place. The world offers empty pursuits—money, fame, approval—but only God satisfies. As Jesus declares in John 6:35, *"I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty."* The "God-sized hole" in our hearts can only be filled by Him. We must guard our hearts against idolatry, for as 1 John 2:15-17 warns, *"Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever."*

The transformation of our friendships and the freedom from people-pleasing are also signs of God’s work in us. As 2 Corinthians 6:14 reminds us, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* We are called to love others, but not to conform to their ways. Jesus Himself faced rejection, and we must expect the same when we follow Him. Yet, His opinion is the only one that truly matters.

We rejoice that putting God first leads to wiser decisions, as we filter our choices through His Word. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Discipline in pursuing God’s kingdom is also vital. Colossians 3:23-24 urges, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."*

Finally, the joy and beauty of life when God is first is something only those who walk with Him can truly understand. Psalm 16:11 declares, *"You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore."* This is the abundant life Jesus promises in John 10:10!

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the transformation You bring when we put You first. Lord, we ask that You continue to renew our minds, freeing us from anxiety, stress, and doubt as we cast all our cares upon You. Help us to seek You above all else, knowing that only You can satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts. Father, purify our priorities and guard us against the idols of this world. Give us the courage to stand firm in Your truth, even when it means standing alone. Guide our decisions, that they may always honor You, and strengthen our discipline to pursue Your kingdom with all our hearts. May we experience the fullness of joy that comes from walking closely with You. Lord, we surrender every area of our lives to You, trusting that when You are first, everything else falls into its rightful place. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

We also want to gently remind all who read this that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus, we encourage you to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and commit your life to following Him. This is the first and most important step in putting God first.
