I have been studying for my driving theory test and have finished the book which I was using. I've took 4 mock tests on my app today and have come out with a score of 27. I took a mock test a few weeks ago and I scored 36. The pass mark is 43. I'm getting really frustrated and feel disappointed in myself. Please pray for me.

We understand your frustration and disappointment as you prepare for your driving theory test. It’s easy to feel discouraged when progress seems slow, but remember that growth often comes in small steps. The fact that you’re studying diligently and taking practice tests shows your commitment, and that is something to be proud of. Let’s bring this before the Lord together, trusting that He will strengthen your mind and calm your heart as you continue to prepare.

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this dear one who is working so hard to prepare for their driving theory test. Lord, we ask that You grant them clarity of mind and peace in their heart as they study. Help them to retain the information they’ve learned and to approach each question with confidence. We rebuke the spirit of frustration and self-doubt that has crept in, and we declare that this one is capable and equipped by You. Father, we ask that You would remind them of Your promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Give them the perseverance to keep pressing forward, even when the results don’t reflect their efforts yet. We pray for favor in their test, that they would recall what they’ve studied and answer with wisdom. May they feel Your presence with them, calming their nerves and filling them with hope. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We want to encourage you to keep going. It’s not uncommon for scores to fluctuate during practice tests, especially as you’re still learning and reinforcing the material. Instead of focusing on the numbers, try to identify the areas where you’re struggling and spend extra time reviewing those topics. Break your study sessions into smaller, manageable chunks to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Lean on Him for strength and direction.

Also, consider asking a friend or family member to quiz you or help you review the material. Sometimes, explaining concepts to someone else can reinforce your own understanding. And remember, it’s okay to take breaks. Rest is just as important as study, as it allows your mind to process and retain what you’ve learned. You’re not alone in this journey, God is with you, and He will see you through. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will guide you to success in His perfect timing.

We can hear how disheartening this feels, to put in the work, finish the book, and then see your scores drop instead of climb. That’s genuinely discouraging, and you’re not being dramatic to be frustrated. A lot of test-takers hit a dip like this after intense study: the brain gets tired, the pressure mounts, and suddenly you’re second-guessing answers you knew last week.

One practical thing that often helps is to step back for a day or even two. Give your mind a true rest from the app and the material. When you return, instead of taking another full mock test right away, try reviewing only the questions you got wrong and the ones you guessed on. That turns mistakes into teachers rather than disappointments. Also, check that you’re not practicing when you’re already fatigued or right before bed, tired eyes miss details.

It might be worth looking at why your score shifted: are there specific topics that tripped you up recently? Sometimes a single weak area can pull an entire mock score down, and a little targeted brush-up there can make a big difference. Remember, mock tests are practice, not predictors. You still have time to steady yourself and sharpen those spots.

We’re lifting you up right now and asking God to settle your nerves, refresh your mind, and help you retain all you’ve studied. Let’s pray:

Father, thank you for the diligence this person has shown. Calm their frustration and quiet their self-criticism. Give them clear thinking, good recall, and a sound strategy as they continue preparing. When they sit for the real test, grant them steady focus and peace, trusting you with the outcome. In Jesus’ name, amen.

There is a snare in this frustration which will only unfit you for the test itself. Anxiety never yet added a single mark to a score, nor brought a single fact to mind. Indeed, the very care with which you surround yourself in the study now becomes a hindrance, clouding the memory and shaking the hand. Cast that aside. The diligence you have shown in applying yourself to the book is not lost because the app brings a low number today. The ground has been plowed; the seed is in the earth, even if you do not yet see the blade.

Trial and disappointment are often the dark vestibule through which we pass into a more settled hope. Your earlier score of 36 was not the final word, and neither is this 27. These are but points along a journey, and the pass mark is reached not by a single leap but by a patient continuance. Is it not so in the life of grace? The soul is kept seeking Christ under discouragement, not by its own native resolve, but by the faith which He Himself bestows. That faith persists when feelings sink low; it holds on when the visible result mocks the effort. Let this small earthly trial preach to you a heavenly lesson. The perseverance of the saints is not a smooth, unbroken ascent; it is a being upheld, a being kept from final departure, even in the midst of stumblings.

You have not departed from the purpose of preparing. You have returned to the app, you have sought another mock test. That very act of trying again, though your spirit sink, is a slender thread of that same principle, a refusal to give up. Take courage from the greater thing. If the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s own Servant, cannot fail in His work, then neither can His grace in you prove a failure. You may feel like a smoking flax today, but He does not quench a bruised reed. Go again to your study, but first go to your God. Tell Him the simple truth of your disappointment, and ask not only for a clear mind on the test, but for a quiet heart that rests in His ordering. A calm trust will let the knowledge you have gained rise to the surface, and the work already done will bear its fruit in due season.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your frustration is understandable, but do not let disappointment master you. The profit of your labor is not only in the passing score, but in the perseverance itself. Remember the man at the pool who waited thirty-eight years, yet did not abandon hope; his endurance was not hidden from the Lord. So also, when your efforts seem to falter, take refuge not in your own strength, but in unceasing prayer. Do not limit your petitions to certain hours; approach at all times, for such importunity moves the Lord’s compassion. Cast this anxiety upon Him, for He says, “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He does not merely promise to help you pass, but to place you in all security. Yet do not neglect your own diligence; the branch that bears fruit is pruned that it may become more fruitful. This temporary setback is such a pruning, to make your mind sharper and your resolve stronger. Therefore, continue your study and your prayers, not as one in despair, but with the boldness of one who trusts that perseverance with faith will open the door.
