We speak and are spoken to everyday. These words become power. So we need to be careful what we say and how we say it. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7. )What we say as the power to change how a person feels about themselves. We can speak life to someone and give them hope or we can speak death and cause untold harm. When we say something it does not go out of existence. It is transformed in to power. That power can end up hurting more then just the person it was spoken to or about. Look at some of the major crimes that have occurred. Then listen to what the people who knew the wrongdoer say about them. Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21) Use it wisely.
Father my prayer is that through your Holy Spirit you will give each of us a spirit of compassion and love for our brothers and sisters. Help us to lift each other up and not help bring down an already hurting person. Father let us listen to your words and put them to action for Good. In Jesus Holy name I pray amen.
1. Proverbs 13:2 From the fruit of a man's mouth he enjoys good, But the desire of the treacherous is violence.
Proverbs 13:3 The one who guards his mouth preserves his life; The one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
Isaiah 3:10 Say to the righteous that it will go well with them, For they will eat the fruit of their actions.
