Is there a history book or family story—perhaps involving ###, ###, or ###—that reveals our roots in God? Can ###, ###, or ###—those in need—turn to the praying Jesus? He who is believed to have spoken and appeared in the realm of the dead, and who conquered death and lives eternally? He who was taken up—or carried—into Heaven, and who intercedes for his mother and his family?

We hear your wondering toward heaven and we join you in seeking the truth about our roots in God and the hope we have in Jesus.

There is indeed a history book that reveals our roots in God, and it is the Bible, which is also the true family story of all mankind. It tells us that God created us in His own image, So God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him, male and female he created them Genesis 1:27, and that He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth Acts 17:26. We were not made to be strangers but to be His children, and through faith in Christ we become part of His family, But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name John 1:12. All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness 2 Timothy 3:16, so we encourage you to turn to it as the faithful record of our origin and our redemption.

You ask if those in need, including those you mentioned, can turn to the praying Jesus, and we answer with great joy that yes, all who are weary and in need can turn to Him. He is the one who was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit, in which also he went and preached to the spirits in prison 1 Peter 3:18-19, and whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it Acts 2:24. He now declares, I am the first and the last, and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever Revelation 1:17-18. He was taken up into heaven, While he blessed them, he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven Luke 24:51, and While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing Acts 1:10-11 testifies to His ascension.

You asked about His intercession for His mother and His family, and we want to gently correct and expand this beautiful truth according to Scripture. Jesus does love and care for His earthly family, but His intercession is far greater. He lives forever to make intercession for all who draw near to God through Him, Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them Hebrews 7:25. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us Romans 8:34. His priestly prayer is not limited to a few, but is for everyone who will believe in Him.

This is why we can tell you with confidence that anyone in need can turn to Him today, for Jesus himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through calling on the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God and receive forgiveness and eternal life.

We pray together for you and for those loved ones you carried in your heart in this request.

Father in heaven, we thank You for revealing our roots in You through Your Word and for making us Your children through Jesus. We thank You for Jesus who descended, who conquered death, who rose and was carried up into heaven and who now lives forever. We pray for each person mentioned in this wondering heart, that they would turn to Jesus in faith, repent of sin, and believe that He died and rose again for them. Draw them to Yourself, save them to the uttermost, and let them know the comfort of His intercession at Your right hand. Help the one who is wondering to find assurance in Scripture and to rest in the living Christ who intercedes for all who trust Him. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We have been thinking about your questions about heaven and where your family comes from in God. That kind of wondering makes sense, wanting to know there is a larger story you belong to and that Jesus is really praying for the people you love.

We believe there is such a story. The Bible is that family history, not just names and dates but God showing how He has drawn people to Himself through Jesus. And yes, those in need, including the ones on your heart, can turn to Him. We hold that Jesus did conquer death, lives eternally, was taken up into heaven, and He does intercede for His people. That is good news when we feel far from home or unsure about our roots.

If it would help, one simple next step could be to spend time in one of the Gospels, perhaps Mark or Luke, reading slowly the accounts of Jesus risen and ascended, and bringing your family names before Him in prayer as you read. You might also sit down with a trusted pastor or older believer who knows your family and ask what they have seen of God's faithfulness in your story. Often those conversations help the bigger picture come into focus.

We are praying for you and your loved ones now. Father, thank You for drawing us to Yourself through Jesus who lives and intercedes for us. Give wisdom and peace to our friend as they seek You, and draw each family member they love closer to You. Help them know they can come to You in need and be heard. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your wondering after heaven is itself a mercy, for it shows a soul that is seeking for Jesus, and I am glad that Jesus is the object of your search, for depend upon it, nothing else is worth seeking for.

Is there a history book that reveals our roots in God? There is indeed, and it is the inspired Word of God. There we learn that our roots are not in a mere family story or in the names of our ancestors, but in the creation of God and in the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. The Scriptures declare our origin, our fall, and our hope, and they point to one history above all histories, that Jesus Christ took upon Himself the transgressions of sinners, bore our sins, conquered death and lives eternally.

You ask if those in need may turn to the praying Jesus, to Him who is believed to have spoken and appeared in the realm of the dead, who conquered death, who was taken up into heaven and who intercedes. This is most true and most precious. The prophet declared, He made intercession for the transgressors, Isaiah 53:12. Our Lord Jesus did descend in His death, and He rose in power, having conquered death, and He was carried up into heaven where He ever lives to make intercession. Whatever our desire or our request may be, provided it is a right one, it is sure to be granted when Jesus pleads for us before the throne of God.

And for whom does He intercede? Not for His mother and His family only, according to the flesh, but for transgressors. I have blessed the Lord Jesus Christ that He makes intercession for the transgressors, for then I may venture to believe that He intercedes for me since I am a transgressor beyond all doubt. Since you are transgressors and you see that Jesus intercedes for transgressors, make bold to say, If He pleads for such as I am, I will put in my humble petition and hope to be heard through Him. You may urge the plea of the precious blood with the Father, seeing the Lord Jesus has urged it and has never failed.

Therefore the way of salvation for you as a sinner is simply this, that you, being a sinner, do now put your trust in Christ Jesus the Substitute for sinners. Salvation is by divine grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone. It is not written, He that believes on Jesus nine parts out of ten and on himself for the other tenth. No, whoever believes on Him, on Him alone, shall be saved. Jesus will never be a part Saviour. Sin is the only qualification for a man to come to Jesus, and if you feel your need, you are invited to look to Him and live.

Do not seek rest in ceremonies or look for substance among dreams by trusting in your own righteousness or in a family lineage. To labor for salvation by your own works will be to search for bread among ashes. Come at once to the mercy seat. Our interceding Lord is hindered for lack of an interceding church, but the throne of grace stands open. Get to your knees, for on your knees you conquer. Trust Him now, and you shall find that He who was once dead and is alive forevermore is able to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by Him, and that He will own you as His own family, for He said, whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

May the Lord teach you to pray for the extension of His kingdom and to praise your Judah Jesus for His wondrous atoning sacrifice and His perpetual sovereignty, and may you find in Him the history, the root, and the home your soul desires.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
