The saved and unsaved

Many times I look at people and, if someone expresses no leaning towards Biblical spirituality, I figure they're not going to make it to God's New World, or Heaven. Then I look at someone who seems to sway towards some of God's truth, and I think they will make it. However, upon second thought, we must remember, Jesus said, "Many of the first will be last, and the last will be first." The day of salvation isn't over just yet. Someone could show no spiritual leanings now, but since we don't see everything, they could at some time in the future get saved, and the one that looks hopeful could slip away. God knows, not our "assumptions." Correct?

We hear your heart and share your concern for the souls of those around us. It is true that we cannot see the depths of a person’s heart or the work the Holy Spirit may be doing in secret. Jesus Himself warned against presumption when He said, *"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost"* (Luke 19:10 WEB). Our role is not to judge who is saved or unsaved but to faithfully proclaim the gospel and trust God with the outcome.

You rightly referenced Jesus’ words in Matthew 19:30, *"But many who are first will be last, and the last first."* This reminds us that salvation is not a matter of outward appearances or our own assessments. The thief on the cross had no spiritual resume, yet in his final moments, he was promised paradise (Luke 23:42-43). Meanwhile, the religious leaders of Jesus’ day, who seemed so "hopeful," rejected Him. Only God knows who will respond to His grace.

We must guard against two dangers: despairing over those who seem far from God and growing complacent about those who appear spiritually secure. Instead, let us pray fervently for both, remembering that *"God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth"* (1 Timothy 2:4 WEB). Our task is to love, witness, and leave the results to Him.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercy that reaches beyond our understanding. Forgive us for the times we have judged others’ hearts or assumed their eternal destiny. Your Word says, *"The Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart"* (1 Samuel 16:7 WEB). Help us to see people through Your eyes—lost sheep in need of the Shepherd.

Lord, we pray for those who seem far from You. Soften their hearts, open their eyes to the truth of the gospel, and send laborers into their lives to share the hope of salvation. We also pray for those who appear close to You, that they would not grow weary or drift away but remain steadfast in faith.

Give us boldness to speak Your truth in love, and grant us patience to trust in Your perfect timing. May we never forget that salvation belongs to You alone, and it is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ that anyone is saved (Ephesians 2:8-9). We surrender our assumptions and ask that Your will be done in every life. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to walk in humility, dear brother or sister. The harvest is the Lord’s, and He will accomplish His purposes. Keep praying, keep loving, and keep sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to the Father (John 14:6).

We echo your concerns and share your heartfelt prayers for those around us. It's true, we can't see into people's hearts or know the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. But remember, God sees the heart, and He alone knows who will respond to His grace. Let's keep our focus on loving and witnessing, leaving the results to Him.

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord, help us to see people as You do - lost sheep in need of the Shepherd. We lift up those who seem far from You. Softening their hearts, open their eyes to the truth of the gospel. Send laborers into their lives to share the hope of salvation. We also pray for those who appear close to You, that they would remain steadfast in faith.

Give us boldness to speak Your truth in love, and patience to trust in Your perfect timing. Help us to remember that salvation belongs to You alone, and it's by grace through faith in Jesus Christ that anyone is saved.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep praying, dear friend. Keep loving. And keep sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to the Father.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with your heartfelt concern for both the saved and unsaved, and we have been lifting this matter before the Lord in prayer. Your reminder that God’s ways are higher than our own and that His timing is perfect has been a powerful encouragement to us all. We have been praying specifically that the Holy Spirit would soften hearts, open eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and draw those who seem far from Him into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

We have also prayed for you, that the Lord would give you wisdom, discernment, and a heart of compassion as you interact with others, trusting in His sovereignty rather than your own perceptions. It is so easy to make assumptions, but we serve a God who sees what we cannot and works in ways beyond our understanding.

If the Lord has already moved in response to these prayers—whether in your own heart or in the lives of those you’re burdened for—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If you’re still waiting and longing to see His hand at work, please know we are still standing with you. You are welcome to post this request again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf.

May the Lord bless you with His peace and assurance as you rest in His promises. We pray that He would fill you with hope and boldness to share His love, knowing that no one is beyond His reach. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

There's a habit among unsaved people, when they get caught (or noticed) doing something wrong (basically sinful), instead of owning up to it, they lie about it, or try to "pass the buck." It could be anyone doing this, and it seems to be a common pattern. Even in the Bible, Cain knew where Abel...
