The root of the problem

Good and Faithful Servant
Dear Family Of God, Some decades ago. I found myself in an office. I had an emotional reaction. The only person in this office was a man. This man phoned my ### and told her about the reaction. She then took me to a psychiatrist. Please stand with me in faith and prayer in Jesus Christ name, to resolve the resulting forces of that reaction and circumstances. Thank you.

We hear your heart and stand with you in faith, lifting this matter before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is clear that the emotional reaction and the subsequent events have left deep wounds, and we believe God desires to bring healing, restoration, and clarity to your situation. First, we must address the foundation of our faith—salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through His blood that we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Jesus, repenting of any sin and trusting in Him as your Lord and Savior. This is the first step toward true healing and freedom.

The circumstances you describe reveal a painful betrayal and a breach of trust, particularly in how this man and your ### (we assume this is a family member or close associate) handled the situation. Scripture warns us about the dangers of gossip and the harm it can cause, as Proverbs 16:28 states, "A perverse man stirs up strife, and a whisperer separates close friends." What was shared without your consent was not only a violation of your privacy but also a failure to uphold the love and protection that should exist among believers. We rebuke the spirit of gossip, betrayal, and any ungodly influence that sought to exploit this moment of vulnerability in your life. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that any lies, shame, or condemnation attached to this situation are broken in Jesus’ name.

The involvement of a psychiatrist, while perhaps well-intentioned, may have introduced further complications if it did not align with biblical truth. We are not against seeking professional help when it is godly and Christ-centered, but we must be cautious of any worldly counsel that contradicts Scripture. The Bible tells us, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). True healing comes from the Lord, and we encourage you to seek Him first and foremost, along with wise, biblically grounded counsel from trusted believers.

We also recognize that emotional reactions can sometimes stem from deeper unresolved issues—perhaps past hurts, unmet needs, or even spiritual oppression. The enemy loves to exploit our weaknesses, but God desires to bring those areas into the light so they can be healed. Psalm 139:23-24 says, "Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way." We invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart, reveal any roots of bitterness, unforgiveness, or fear, and bring complete healing to your emotions and mind.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name that is above every name. We thank You that You are our Healer, our Redeemer, and our Strong Tower. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would touch every wound, every memory, and every place of pain connected to this situation. We break the power of gossip, betrayal, and any ungodly words spoken over their life in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we cancel every assignment of the enemy to keep them in bondage.

Father, we ask that You would bring clarity and truth to their mind. If there are any lies they have believed about themselves, about You, or about others, we ask that You would replace them with Your truth. Your Word says that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that You would restore their mind and emotions to wholeness, filling them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we also ask that You would reveal any roots of bitterness, unforgiveness, or resentment that may have taken hold. Your Word commands us to forgive as You have forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). If there is anyone they need to forgive—this man, their ###, the psychiatrist, or even themselves—we ask that You would soften their heart and give them the strength to release it to You. We declare that the chains of unforgiveness are broken in Jesus’ name.

Father, we pray for restoration in every area of their life. If there are relationships that need mending, we ask that You would bring reconciliation according to Your will. If there are areas where they have been misjudged or misunderstood, we ask that You would bring vindication and justice. Your Word says that You execute justice for the fatherless and the oppressed (Psalm 10:18), and we trust You to do the same for them.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guiding them into all truth and leading them in the path of righteousness. May they know Your love in a deeper way than ever before, and may they walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we declare that this situation will be turned around for Your glory. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, and surrounding yourself with godly believers who can support and encourage you. If there are specific areas of your life where you feel the enemy has gained a foothold, we urge you to renounce any ungodly ties, repent of any sin, and stand firm on the promises of God. You are not alone in this battle, and we believe that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

We're here with you, dear friend, standing in faith and prayer. We've been reflecting on your situation and feel led to share some more thoughts with you.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God is near. He is always with you, even in the darkest times. As it says in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He sees your pain, and He wants to heal you.

We've been thinking about the emotional reaction you experienced. It's important to remember that emotions are a gift from God, and they're meant to guide us, not control us. Sometimes, strong emotional reactions can be a sign that something deeper needs to be addressed. We encourage you to be gentle with yourself, to allow yourself to feel what you're feeling, and to trust that God is using this to bring something to light that needs healing.

In terms of the betrayal you experienced, we want to assure you that God sees it, and He is just. He promises in Romans 12:19, "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." Trust that He will make all things right in His time.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face. In times of pain and confusion, it's easy to focus on the problem rather than the Solution. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." He is inviting you to come to Him, to learn from Him, and to find rest.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today, laying down our burdens and our pain at the feet of Jesus. We ask that You would heal the wounds of our ###, that You would bring clarity to their mind, and that You would fill them with Your peace. We ask that You would reveal any roots of bitterness or unforgiveness, and that You would give them the strength to forgive as You have forgiven them. We trust You to make all things right, and we thank You for Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
