The Psalm of the Great Anathema

Good and Faithful Servant
A Petition for the Cleansing of the Land and the Ruin of the Interloper. I. The Invocation of the Avenger Arise, O Lord God of Hosts, the Mighty Avenger and the Defender of our Borders! Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered; let those who hate the native-born flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so drive out the stranger; As wax melts before the fire, so let the deceivers perish at the presence of the Almighty. For they have moved the landmarks of our fathers and eaten the bread of our children. II. The Curse of the Barren Labor Let the curse of the wasted field be upon them. May they sow much but bring in little; let the locust of debt devour their increase. Let their bank accounts be as a bag with holes, and their contracts as chaff before the wind. May the offices that favored the stranger be struck with a spirit of confusion; Let their commerce fail, their foundations tremble, and their names be blotted out from the marketplace. III. The Decree of Dehumanization Because they have plundered the inheritance of the household, let their own bodies betray them. In the day of their deepest hunger, let there be no hand to give them bread. Let them be driven by the gnawing of their own stomachs to eat of their own excrement; Let them find the soil of this island to be as brass beneath their feet and the heavens as iron above their heads. May they know the absolute bitterness of the land they sought to claim as their own. IV. The Shadow of the Adversary Set Thou a wicked man over him, O Lord, and let Satan stand at his right hand. Let the Accuser be his constant companion in every street and corner of ###. May the Adversary whisper "Rejection" in his ear at every interview and "Failure" at every gate. Let his path be dark and slippery, and let the angel of the Lord persecute him. Let his days be few, and let his office be given to a citizen of the soil. V. The Eternal Blotting Out Let the names of the stranger and their offspring be blotted out from the Book of Life. Let them be remembered no more in the land of the living, nor their seed inherit the earth. When they cry out, let their prayer be turned into a curse; When they seek mercy, let them find only the fire of Your jealousy. Let them flee in massive numbers to their ancestral lands, pursued by the shame of their presence here. VI. The Restitution of the Glory Do not relent, O Lord, until the cleansing is total and the inheritance is restored to its children. Then shall the native-born prosper alone in the quietness of a restored household. Establish the work of local hands and let the glory of the years of old return to our gates. In the Mighty and Matchless Name of Jesus, Amen.

We recognize the deep pain and anger expressed in this prayer, and we understand the desire for justice when one feels their land, heritage, and way of life are under threat. However, we must address several concerns with this petition, as it does not align with the heart of Christ or the teachings of Scripture.

First and foremost, we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). While it is right to stand against injustice, we must not curse or seek harm upon individuals, even those who may oppose us. Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). The language of this prayer—seeking ruin, dehumanization, and eternal blotting out—contradicts the call to love and forgiveness that Christ has given us.

The Bible is clear that vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), but His justice is tempered with mercy. We are called to trust in His righteous judgment rather than seeking to bring about destruction ourselves. The prayer’s focus on driving out "the stranger" and "interloper" also raises concerns, as Scripture commands us to show hospitality and compassion to the foreigner among us (Leviticus 19:34, Hebrews 13:2). While we must uphold the rule of law and the integrity of borders, we are never permitted to dehumanize or wish harm upon those who are different from us.

We also note the absence of Christ’s love and grace in this prayer. While it ends "in the Mighty and Matchless Name of Jesus," the content does not reflect His character. Jesus came not to condemn the world, but to save it (John 3:17). If we are to pray in His name, our prayers must align with His heart—one of redemption, not ruin.

Let us instead pray for wisdom, discernment, and a heart that seeks God’s will above our own desires for retribution. We must pray for justice to be restored in ways that honor God, for leaders to act with integrity, and for those who have caused harm to repent and turn to Christ. We must also pray for our own hearts, that we would not be consumed by bitterness or hatred, but would instead be filled with the love of Christ.

Father in Heaven, we come before You with heavy hearts, acknowledging the pain and frustration that comes from seeing injustice in our land. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance in how to respond in a way that honors You. Forgive us for the times we have allowed anger and bitterness to take root in our hearts. Help us to trust in Your justice, knowing that You see all and will act in Your perfect timing.

We pray for those who have caused harm or sought to take what is not theirs. Soften their hearts, Lord, and lead them to repentance. May they come to know You and turn from their ways. We also pray for our leaders, that they would govern with wisdom, integrity, and a heart for Your people. Restore what has been broken, Lord, not through destruction, but through Your redemptive power.

Give us the strength to love those who oppose us, to show kindness to the stranger, and to seek peace in our land. May Your name be glorified in all we do, and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask this in the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We stand with you in your concern for the welfare of our land and its people. We understand the frustration and pain you're feeling, and we join you in desiring justice and protection for our heritage and way of life. However, we must ensure that our prayers align with the heart of Christ, who calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.

Let's refocus our prayer, asking God to give wisdom to our leaders, that they may govern with integrity and compassion. We pray for those who have caused harm or sought to take what is not theirs, that their hearts would be softened and they would turn to God in repentance. We ask for God's mercy and grace, not curses or ruin.

May we, as a people, be known for our love, kindness, and hospitality, even to those who are different from us. We trust in God's justice and His perfect timing, knowing that He sees all and will act in righteousness.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
