THE MORE I PRAY THE WORSE THE SITUATION GETS, PLEASE PRAY

TrindaD

Humble Prayer Partner
I ask for prayers. The more I pray the more things get worse. There are some things that are really bothering me:

1) Although I get really good job evaluations, my boss often makes belittling statements to me such as "We've already discussed this" or "I've said this multiple times." These comments lower my confidence. It makes me feel dumb. I graduated grad school with an A average but her comments sting.

2) I have constantly prayed about people being on our property that's not supposed to be. There used to be pranks going on; we have cameras up now and the pranks stopped, but now there's a new problem. People are often walking through our yard, turning around in the driveway frequently, or allowing their dogs to go to the bathroom on our lawn.

3) Holidays and special events are extremely difficult because I'm single and have to attend events where everyone else is coupled up.

We hear your heart and the weight of these struggles pressing down on you. It’s deeply discouraging when prayer feels like it’s met with silence—or worse, when circumstances seem to unravel further. But we want to remind you that God is not distant or indifferent to your pain. The enemy may whisper lies that your prayers are powerless, but Scripture tells us, *"The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man avails much"* (James 5:16). Your prayers *are* being heard, even when the answers aren’t immediate or visible.

First, let’s address the belittling comments from your boss. It’s painful to be undermined, especially when you’ve worked hard and excelled academically. But remember, your worth is not defined by her words or even your job performance—it’s defined by Christ. *"For you are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:20). That truth doesn’t change, no matter how she treats you. We encourage you to pray for wisdom in how to respond—whether that means setting gentle but firm boundaries, seeking counsel from a trusted mentor, or even exploring other opportunities if this environment becomes toxic. But don’t let her words steal your confidence. *"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear"* (Ephesians 4:29). If she’s speaking corruptly to you, that’s on her—not you.

As for the trespassers on your property, we understand how violating and frustrating that must feel. You’ve taken steps to secure your home, and that’s wise. But we also want to rebuke the spirit of intrusion and disrespect in Jesus’ name. *"The LORD will protect you. He is your shade at your right hand. The sun won’t harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will preserve you from all evil. He will preserve your soul"* (Psalm 121:5-7). We pray for a hedge of protection around your property and for the Holy Spirit to convict those who disregard your boundaries. Consider posting clear, polite signage (e.g., "Private Property—No Trespassing") and, if necessary, involve local authorities to reinforce the message. You have every right to peace and privacy in your own home.

Now, about the loneliness during holidays and events—this is a deep ache, and we don’t want to minimize it. Singleness can feel isolating, especially in a world that often equates coupledom with fulfillment. But we want to remind you that your identity is not found in a relationship. *"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the LORD"* (Proverbs 18:22), but that doesn’t mean singleness is a lesser state. Jesus Himself was single, and Paul wrote that *"it is good for a man not to touch a woman"* (1 Corinthians 7:1) in the context of undivided devotion to the Lord. If you desire marriage, we pray for God’s timing and for a godly spouse who will cherish and lead you in Christ. But until then, guard your heart against bitterness. *"Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4). That doesn’t mean God will give you a spouse on your timeline, but it means He will shape your desires to align with His will.

We also want to gently address a concern: your prayer request didn’t mention Jesus, and we want to remind you that it’s only through Him that we have access to the Father. *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’"* (John 14:6). If you’ve never surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Salvation isn’t about religion—it’s about a relationship with the One who died for your sins and rose again. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). If you’ve already made that decision, we encourage you to pray *in His name*, for *"whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son"* (John 14:13).

Let’s pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is weary and discouraged. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of discouragement and oppression that’s trying to steal her joy and confidence. We declare that her worth is found in You alone, not in the words of others or her relationship status. Father, give her wisdom in dealing with her boss—grant her the strength to set boundaries, the grace to respond with dignity, and the peace that surpasses understanding. We pray for protection over her home, Lord. Send Your angels to guard her property and convict those who trespass against her. Let her home be a place of safety and rest.

Father, we ask for Your comfort during lonely seasons. Remind her that You are her Bridegroom and that Your love is enough. If it’s Your will, bring a godly spouse into her life who will love and lead her as Christ loves the Church. But until then, fill her with Your presence and purpose. Teach her to delight in You, knowing that You hold her future. We pray for breakthrough in every area, Lord—at work, at home, and in her heart. Strengthen her faith when answers seem delayed, and remind her that You are working all things together for her good.

We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we trust You to move on her behalf. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Hold fast to hope, dear one. The enemy wants you to believe that prayer doesn’t work, but God is at work even in the waiting. *"But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint"* (Isaiah 40:31). Keep pressing in.

We're right there with you, standing in the gap, lifting up your burdens to the Lord. It's tough when it feels like prayers are met with silence, or worse, when situations seem to worsen. But remember, our God is a God who hears, sees, and cares deeply about every detail of your life.

We want to encourage you in a different way today. Sometimes, it's not just about the big prayers, but the small, consistent ones. The ones we say throughout our day, even in the mundane. Like when you're feeling belittled at work, take a moment to whisper, "Lord, help me respond with grace and dignity." When you see someone trespassing on your property, pause and pray, "Lord, protect my home and convict their hearts." In the loneliness of holidays, remind yourself, "Lord, You are enough for me today."

And let's not forget the power of thanksgiving. Even in the midst of struggles, there's always something to be grateful for. Maybe it's a beautiful sunset, a tasty meal, or a kind word from a friend. Let's cultivate an attitude of gratitude, knowing that it pleases God and can change our perspective.

So, let's keep praying, keep trusting, and keep thanking. Our God is faithful, and He's working all things together for your good. We're in this with you, sister. Let's hold fast to hope together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
