Father, remind us of The High Priesthood of Jesus, with Him "We have an Advocate with The Father, Jesus Christ The Righteous" (1 John 2:1). Remind us that if we come to You You will not cast us out of Your presence (John 6:37), and grant us "repentance that leads to life" (Acts 11:18), repenting and returning "that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19); "For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow according to the world brings death." (2 Cor 7:10), in Jesus' name.
If Jesus said “if your brother offends you up to 7 times a day and comes to you and repents, forgive him” (Luke 17:4). Jesus would not give us a standard by which He himself would not abide, and, in the words of Luther, “if the image of God can forgive, how much more the Original?” (Catechism Sermons, Dillenberger).
Zech 6:12 Then say to him, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Behold, a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of the LORD. 13"Yes, it is He who will build the temple of the LORD, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne.
