The lord Jesus said, " ASK THE FATHER IN MY NAME AND I WILL DO IT FOR YOU. " Help us the Church to believe it and To then Pray in Faith. ###.

We join with you in this burden for the Church to truly believe and live out the promise our Lord Jesus gave us. We hear your heart crying out for faith to take Him at His word, and we stand together with you asking the Father to awaken that childlike trust in all of us.

The Lord Jesus did say it, and His word is true. He said, Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:13-14. And again, Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full. John 16:23-24. To ask in His name is not speaking a formula at the end of a prayer, it is coming to the Father by the authority, merit, and character of Jesus Himself, as His redeemed people, seeking what He would seek and what brings glory to the Father.

We confess that we as the Church often struggle with unbelief, praying with doubt or with lips that say one thing while our hearts waver. Scripture gently rebukes us and calls us higher, But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. James 1:6. And, Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6. We are also reminded that true faith prays according to His will, This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. 1 John 5:14. And Jesus taught us, Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them. Mark 11:24. Faith grows as we hear and abide in His word, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17.

So we pray together now for ourselves and for the whole Church.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son we come before Your throne of grace. Forgive us for our unbelief and for the times we have prayed without expecting You to answer. We thank You that through Jesus we have bold access to You, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can come to You and be saved. Increase our faith, Lord. Help us to believe what Jesus said and to take Him at His word. Teach us to abide in Christ, to know Your will through Your word, and to pray in full confidence that You hear us. Pour out a spirit of prayer and supplication upon Your Church, that we would ask in the name of Jesus, according to Your will, with unwavering faith, and see You glorified in the Son. Let our prayers be fervent, believing, and persistent, that our joy may be made full as You answer. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We love the simple honesty in what you have written, and we join you in this prayer for the Church.

That desire to take Jesus at His word and to pray with real confidence is itself a work of God in you. Faith at its heart is not a feeling we work up or a perfect certainty we manufacture, it is a steady trust in how trustworthy Christ is, even when our emotions waver. It is a gift He gives, and it grows as we keep hearing His word together and as it is tested in everyday life.

We are praying with you that our churches would grow in that kind of quiet, settled trust that naturally turns into prayer.

One simple way we have seen that grow is to practice it together in a very plain way. Perhaps this week you could gather two or three others and choose one need to bring to the Father in Jesus' name each time you meet, praying briefly and honestly and then watching together for how He answers in His wisdom and timing. Hearing the word and praying it back together often strengthens our confidence more than trying to believe harder on our own.

Father, thank You for inviting us to come to You in the name of Jesus. Deepen our trust in Your character and teach us as Your Church to pray with sincere faith. Help us to keep seeking You and to rest in Your good will. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your petition is itself pleasing to the Lord, for you ask for that which He delights to give, namely faith to take Him at His word. The Lord Jesus has indeed said, Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. This is no bare saying of man, but the promise of Him who cannot lie, and it stands fast for His Church in every age.

True believing is not a faith which believes in itself and in Christ only so far as He agrees with its own opinions. Such a faith is not prepared to obey Christ and accept Him as Master and Lord. The proof of discipleship is persevering in faith, abiding in the Word of Jesus, entering into that Word and continuing therein. Saving faith is the relinquishment of all trust in self, once and for all, and the trusting in Jesus forever. It is a worshipping faith, faith on its knees in the presence of the Son of God, beholding Him with the eyes which He has opened. Any kind of faith is better than that deadly doubt which is cried up so much nowadays, for by faith comes salvation. And faith comes by hearing, by hearing the Word of Christ.

When you so believe, you shall find what the Scripture calls peace in believing. It is a filling peace and a well founded peace, for there is nothing on earth or in heaven which is not fully met by the covenant blessings which are within reach of faith and which faith learns to appropriate. There is no peace worthy of the name to be found in any other way. Believe, that is trust, trust Jesus with your souls and you shall have peace in believing. And that believing will teach you to pray.

For faith the mother and prayer the child are seldom apart from one another. Faith carries prayer in her arms, and prayer draws life from the breast of faith. To ask the Father in the name of Jesus is not the repeating of a phrase, but praying in the Holy Spirit, praying in His power and through His help, with a heart full of faith in the promises of God. The Holy Spirit is the Author of faith and He nurtures and strengthens it so that we pray believing. Edification in faith leads to fervency in supplication.

May the Lord hear this desire of your heart for the whole Church. May He grant you grace to believe His Word without wavering, to abide in it, and to keep yourselves in the love of God. May He fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost, and may He teach you to come boldly to the Father in the prevailing name of Jesus, trusting that what you ask according to His will He will surely do, for His own glory. Amen.

Your longing to take the Lord at His word is itself a good work of faith, and it is right to ask that the whole Church may share it. The Lord Jesus did say, whatever you ask the Father in My name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. This is a faithful saying and worthy to be received, even though the greatness of the gift surpasses our expectation.

Faith is not a vague hope but being fully persuaded that what God has promised He is also able to perform. As you have noted, we often fail to believe because His mercy is so large that we think it cannot be true for us. Yet He who gave His Son for sinners will also with Him freely give us all things according to His wisdom. To ask in the Name of Jesus is not to use words as an incantation, but to call upon Him with a trusting heart, in dependence on His merit alone, for there is no other Name given by which we come to the Father and no other way of salvation.

That Name is great and powerful, and when we use it in prayer with faith we honor the Father and the Son together. Christ Himself showed that His will and the Father's will are one, and He prayed aloud for the sake of those standing by, that they might believe He was sent from the Father. So now He invites us to pray in that same Name, that our joy may be full and that others may see and believe.

I pray with you and for you: Father, in the Name of Your Son Jesus Christ, grant to Your people a firm and living faith. Help us to believe Your word without doubting, to come boldly to Your throne of grace through Christ alone, and to ask according to Your will. Fill us with Your Spirit, teach us to pray with thanksgiving and with hearts set on Your glory, and answer us in the way that brings most honor to Your Name and most good to our souls. Strengthen the Church to pray with one mind and with perseverance, trusting not in our own worth but in the worth of Jesus, until we receive what You have promised. Amen.
