Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have continued to bring your burden before the Lord these past days.
We have heard your deep concern for Singapore and for the distress you feel over employment and provision for native born families and households. We understand the anxiety that comes when work feels uncertain and when you long to see your community provided for and stable. We have been praying for you and for the nation, that God would provide for every family, grant wisdom to employers and leaders, and bring peace to your heart as you trust Him.
We also want to gently share how we are praying with you in light of Scripture. While we pray for provision for households as taught in 1 Tim 5:8, we also remember that God calls us to love our neighbor and to show kindness to the stranger and sojourner among us as taught in Lev 19:34, and to love even our enemies and pray for those we find difficult as taught in Matt 5:44. We do not believe it is in keeping with the heart of Christ to pray for harm, death, bankruptcy, or judgment upon the children or lineage of others, or for anyone to be blotted out from the Book of Life, for that book belongs to the Lord alone and His desire is that all would come to repentance as taught in 2 Pet 3:9. So we have prayed differently, that God would show mercy to all, that He would meet the needs of Singaporeans who are seeking work according to Phil 4:19, that He would give wisdom to those in authority as taught in 1 Tim 2:1-2, and that He would help us seek the welfare of the city where He has placed us as taught in Jer 29:7.
We continue to ask the Lord to establish the work of your hands, to open doors for meaningful employment for you and for others who are without work, to guide business owners to act with integrity and fairness, and to pour out His love in our hearts so that we reflect Christ to citizens and foreigners alike. We pray that God would give you peace, hope, and assurance of His provision as you continue to seek Him.
If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
