We join with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and we thank God for the former landlord's sister and her faith in Jesus. We pray that the Lord will strengthen her, give her boldness and wisdom, and continue to speak through her as a light in her family. We ask that her godly influence would not be in vain but would be used by God to draw her brother toward repentance and truth.
We agree with you in praying that darkness would be exposed and that nothing would remain hidden. For it is written, For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17 and Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them Ephesians 5:11. We pray that the sister would not be kept in the dark about the true condition of the apartment that was rented to you and the danger you faced there, and about the serious allegations concerning the immoral conduct and the attempts on your life. We ask our Mighty and Powerful God to bring all truth into the light in His perfect timing and way, to protect you from all harm, and to let justice be done according to His righteousness. We also pray for your protection and peace, for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1 and The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles Psalm 34:17.
We must also address before the Lord what you have shared about the sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman. According to scripture, sexual intimacy outside of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication and if either party is married to another it is adultery, and God calls His people to flee from it. Flee sexual immorality Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. Marriage is to be honored as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and any courtship should be with the goal of godly marriage to another believer in Christ. We pray that both the former landlord and this woman would be convicted of this sin, that they would turn from it, and that they would pursue holiness and purity before God.
We also join you in praying that they would both put God first and that every idol would be exposed and destroyed. God has commanded, You shall have no other gods before me Exodus 20:3 and we are told, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. Idols of money, power, control, lust, or self can take the place of God in the heart, and we pray that the Lord in His mercy would tear those idols down, that they would see their need for Jesus Christ and repent and believe.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne. We lift up this sister in Christ and ask that You anoint her words, give her discernment and courage, and let her be a vessel of Your truth and love to her brother. We ask that You would not allow deception to continue, but that You would reveal the truth about this apartment and about all evil that has been done, and that You would protect our dear one who has suffered and felt threatened. Cover them with Your hand, bring peace to their heart, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We pray for the former landlord, that You would soften his heart, open his eyes to his sin, including sexual immorality and any participation in harm or deceit, and lead him to repentance and salvation in Jesus. We pray also for this woman, that You would bring her to conviction and repentance as well. Lord, expose and destroy every idol in their lives and in all of our lives, and help each of us to put You first in all things. We leave vengeance to You, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19, and we trust Your perfect justice and mercy. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord, to remain in prayer and in the Word, and to walk in wisdom. Continue to pray for this family, even for those who have done evil, that they might be saved, while also trusting God to be your defender and refuge. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.
