The former landlord's Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in bringing this situation before the Lord and we thank God for the former landlord's sister and her faith in Jesus. We pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen her and use her as light and salt in her family. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 you are the light of the world, a city located on a hill cannot be hidden, and in Matthew 5:16 even so let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. We pray that her witness will be bold and loving and that God will speak through her clearly to her brother so that he may be convicted and drawn to repentance.

We also pray that what has been hidden will be brought into the light. Your request that she not be kept in the dark about the dangerous apartment and about the immoral conduct is a prayer for truth and we agree with you for truth to be revealed. The Scripture says in Luke 8:17 for nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light, and in Ephesians 5:11 have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness but rather even reprove them. We pray that our Mighty and Powerful God will expose every deception and every idol and that He will destroy every idol that has taken His rightful place. As it is written in Exodus 20:3 you shall have no other gods before me, and in 1 John 5:21 little children keep yourselves from idols. We pray that both the former landlord and his sister will put God first in all things, for Matthew 6:33 says but seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.

We must also address what you have shared about the sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman. According to Scripture any sexual relationship outside of marriage between a man and a woman is sin before God. If they were not married to each other it is fornication and if either was married to another it is adultery. We are called to flee from this sin as 1 Corinthians 6:18 says flee sexual immorality, and Hebrews 13:4 says let marriage be held in honor among all and let the bed be undefiled but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Marriage is God's design as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman and courtship should be pursued with that holy goal in mind with another believer in Christ. We pray that the former landlord will repent of this immorality and of any dishonesty or negligence in renting to you an apartment that endangered your life, and that he will seek to make things right where he has done wrong, for Proverbs 28:13 says he who conceals his sins will not prosper but whoever confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

We are deeply concerned to hear that you believe people were hired to try to kill you. We pray for your protection and for God's justice and we ask the Lord to surround you with His safety for Psalm 34:7 says the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him and delivers them. We encourage you to also place this matter before the proper authorities if you have not already, trusting that God ordains authorities to restrain evil, and to continue to trust the Lord to vindicate you, for Romans 12:19 says vengeance belongs to me says the Lord, I will repay.

We pray together now, Father in heaven we lift up this sister in Christ to You and we thank You for her faith. Strengthen her, fill her with wisdom and courage and let Your Word speak through her to her brother. Lord we pray that You will open her eyes to the truth about what has happened and that no darkness will remain hidden. We pray for the former landlord that You will convict his heart, bring him to repentance for any sexual immorality and for renting a life threatening dwelling and turn him fully to You. Destroy every idol in their lives and help them both to put You first above all else. Protect the one who submitted this request, guard his life, give him peace and let justice and truth prevail. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We have been thinking about you and the weight you have been carrying after that apartment situation. Feeling unsafe where you live shakes your sense of peace, and it makes sense you would long for truth to be known and for someone with good influence in the family to speak with clarity and care. We are joining you in prayer for that.

We are praying that the sister who loves Jesus continues to be a steady, godly voice in her brother's life, and that both of them will seek to put God first in their decisions. We are also praying for you, for your safety, for rest after a frightening season, and for wisdom for any next steps while you process what happened.

One thing that can help when so much feels unsettled is to stay connected in person with someone you trust, a pastor or mature believer who knows you, who can pray with you regularly and walk with you as you sort through what is needed for your housing and peace of mind going forward.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask for Your protection and peace to surround them. We lift the former landlord and his sister to You as well, asking that You guide them toward what is right and true and help each of them to put You first. Give our friend wisdom, steady support nearby, and a clear sense of Your presence and care. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We have brought your petition before the Lord and we join you in prayer for these matters with a desire that truth and righteousness may prevail and that God alone may be glorified.

We pray for the sister of whom you speak, who has faith in Jesus Christ. We thank God for that faith, for it is the victory that overcomes the world, bringing a better and brighter world before us. We pray that the Lord will strengthen her in that faith, that she may fear God and eschew evil as Job did, and that she may speak the truth with boldness. As Latimer resolved to preach before the Lord God Almighty who is able to cast both body and soul into hell, and so to tell the truth outright, so we pray that this sister may be given courage and clarity to speak what is true and right, not flattering nor concealing, but faithful to her Lord.

We pray concerning her brother, your former landlord. We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, for we know that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that His way is holy. Where there has been sexual immorality outside the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, we pray not for its continuance but for conviction, repentance and cleansing. The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin, and that blood alone can put away sin from the heart and give peace to the conscience. We pray that the Lord will bring this man to the fear of the Lord which drives a soul not from Christ but to Him, to the Mercy Seat and to the bosom of Christ where refuge is found, and that he may turn from all that is evil and seek mercy.

We pray also regarding the apartment of which you speak and the grave danger you have known, and the wrongs you believe were done against you. We pray that what has been hidden in darkness may be brought to light, for God marketh all things and will not call evil good. We ask that the sister not be kept in the dark concerning these things, but that the truth may be made known in a way that is just and orderly, without deceit, and that every idol may be torn from its throne. We echo that prayer, The dearest idol I have known, whatever that idol be, help me to tear it from Your throne, and worship only Thee. We pray that both brother and sister, and all concerned, may put God first, that He alone may reign in their hearts, and that every idol of self, of gain, of lust or of power may be exposed and destroyed.

For you who have suffered and have felt the assaults of the world, the flesh and the devil, we pray that you may know the confidence of those who know that Jesus has risen from the dead and lives to plead for them. There is always a Mercy Seat for you to go to. We pray for your protection and preservation, that the Lord who has many times rescued His people as from between the lion's jaws will keep you still, and that you will walk by faith in Him who did not forget you though you were pressed and grieved.

We commit all these persons and all these circumstances to the Lord who is both just and merciful, praying that He will do what is holy and right, that sin may be forsaken, that truth may be revealed, and that Christ may be exalted as the only hope of sinners. May the Lord hear and answer according to His perfect wisdom and love. Amen.
