The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in lifting up this heavy burden before our heavenly Father and we thank Him that the former landlord's sister has faith in Jesus, for we know that faith is a gift from God and a light in a dark place.

We pray that God will continue to speak through her and give her boldness and wisdom to be a godly influence on her brother. We ask that the truth not remain hidden, for the Word tells us For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17 and Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them Ephesians 5:11. We pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life threatening condition of the apartment her brother rented to you, and about the serious wrongdoing surrounding it. A landlord has a moral and biblical duty to act justly and to love his neighbor as himself, and to knowingly rent a dangerous dwelling is to fail in that duty. We pray that the Lord exposes every deception and brings all that has been done in secret into His light, so that justice may be done and lives may be protected.

We also must address what you have shared about the immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord. Scripture is clear that sex outside of marriage is sin before God. If both were unmarried it is fornication, if either was married it is adultery, and both are grievous in His sight. Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. Marriage is to be held as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, honorable and pure, and God will judge the sexually immoral Hebrews 13:4. We pray that both the former landlord and this woman would be convicted of this sin, that they would repent and turn from it, and pursue purity and holiness before God. And what you describe about hiring people to try to kill you is an abomination before God, for it violates His command You shall not murder Exodus 20:13. We pray for your protection and deliverance, for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1, and we trust that vengeance belongs to the Lord, as it is written Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19.

We pray that both the brother and sister will put God first above all else, for He has said You shall have no other gods before me Exodus 20:3 and Little children, keep yourselves from idols 1 John 5:21. We ask our Mighty and Powerful God to expose and destroy every idol in their lives, whether it be money, power, lust, or self, and to lead them to worship Him in spirit and truth.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to Your throne. We lift up this sister to You, strengthen her faith, fill her with Your Holy Spirit, and give her courage to speak Your truth in love to her brother. Remove any veil of deception and let no darkness remain hidden. Expose the danger of that apartment and the evil intent behind the attempts on this dear one's life, and bring protection, justice, and repentance. Convict the former landlord and the woman involved of sexual immorality and of all idolatry, and lead them to genuine repentance and to seek godly marriage if it be Your will, rather than lawless relationships. Tear down every idol that competes for their hearts and establish Yourself as Lord over their lives. Cover the one who was harmed with Your protection and peace, and let Your will be done. We ask that You would bring healing, truth, and righteousness from this situation, and that Your name would be glorified. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord to be your defender and to bring what is hidden into the light in His perfect timing, and to keep praying for the salvation and transformation of these souls, for God desires that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.

We hear how burdened you have been carrying this, wanting truth to come into the light and wanting God to be put first in a very painful housing situation. It makes sense you would look to the former landlord's sister as someone who knows the Lord and might be a steady, honest voice in her family.

We are praying with you that God will keep strengthening her faith and give her wisdom and courage to speak truthfully as she has opportunity. We are also praying for you, for your safety and peace after what you have been through in that apartment, and for clarity about next steps. When there are concerns about unsafe housing or feeling threatened, it helps not to carry that alone. If you have not already, it can be wise to keep a simple written record of what happened and to seek guidance from a trusted pastor and from appropriate local help such as a housing authority or legal aid resource. If you ever feel in immediate danger, please reach out right away to local emergency services or a trusted person near you.

We join you in asking God to expose what needs to be exposed and to loosen the hold of anything that has become an idol, and to lead both you and this family toward what honors Him.

Father, we bring this sister to You and ask You to guard and guide her, we bring our friend who is praying and ask for protection, wisdom and rest, and we ask You to bring truth into the light in Your way and Your timing and to tear down every idol that stands against You. Give clear direction for what to do next and keep all involved in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your burden and bring it before the Lord with you in prayer, asking for His truth, His justice, and His mercy to be made known.

We pray for the sister who knows the Lord Jesus Christ, that the Lord would continue to give her grace and boldness to speak His word faithfully. May she walk in wisdom and love, and may the Lord use her influence as a light in her family, that she may declare the works of the Lord with clarity and courage. We ask that what has been hidden would be brought into the light according to God's perfect will, that no deception concerning the apartment you describe would remain in darkness, and that all truth concerning wrongdoing and danger would be exposed and dealt with righteously.

We pray for the former landlord, that he would put God first and turn from every idol. As it is written, little children keep yourselves from idols. We ask that the Lord would expose and destroy every idol of the heart, whether wealth, or pleasure, or self will, or any sin that would take the place of Christ. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His word, for His design for sexual intimacy is within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Where there has been immorality, we pray not for its affirmation but for conviction, repentance, and cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. We pray that both he and the woman you mention would hear the gospel, forsake sin, and seek deliverance from the power of darkness through the ransom God has found in His Son.

We pray also for your own deliverance and protection. The Lord is gracious and has found a ransom to deliver souls from the pit. He alone brings forth His people when the lamb was slain, and He makes deliverance effectual by free grace. If you have faced threat and fear, we ask the Lord to be your refuge, to guard your life, to let justice be done, and to keep you from the hand of those who would do harm. We pray that any schemes against you would be brought to nothing, and that the Lord would grant to the authorities wisdom to act justly where wrong has been done.

We ask that the Lord would be put first in every heart concerned in this matter, that idolatry in every form would be condemned and forsaken, and that Christ would be enthroned. May any chastisement be received as from a Father's love, leading to holiness, and may any deliverance lead to gratitude, that you may live and declare the works of the Lord.

We pray all this trusting not in our own merit, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ, who alone delivers from both the guilt and the power of sin.

We thank God that you have brought this heavy burden to prayer and we join you in seeking Him.

We pray for the former landlord's sister who trusts in Jesus, that the Lord will strengthen her faith, keep her rooted in His word, and give her wisdom and courage to speak the truth in love. We ask that God will use her faithful witness to call her brother toward repentance and toward salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved.

We pray for the former landlord, that he would put God first, turn from every idol that competes for his heart, and walk in the grace that teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world. Scripture teaches that the wrath of God is revealed against all ungodliness and unrighteousness, and also that God is merciful to forgive those who turn to Him. We pray that whatever has been hidden in darkness concerning the apartment you described and any danger you experienced would be brought into the light, that the truth would be made known, and that justice would be done. We pray that God would protect you from all harm and that you would have wisdom to take lawful and practical steps for your safety, including seeking help from trusted pastors and, where a life has been threatened, from the proper authorities.

We do not ask God to bless what He calls immoral. His design for sexual intimacy is within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. We pray that any sexual relationship outside of that design would be recognized as sin, confessed, and forsaken, and that both persons involved would find forgiveness and new life in Christ. We pray that every idol, whether of money, pleasure, power or self, would be exposed and torn down, and that Christ would be honored as Lord over all.

We ask our mighty and powerful God to guard you, to give you peace as you look for His appearing, to help you live rightly and free from fear, and to draw all who are involved to the truth that sets us free. May the Lord establish you in safety, surround you with wise counsel, and lead both this family and you to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.
