We join with you in prayer for this situation and for the former landlord's sister who has faith in Jesus. We thank God for her faith and for her willingness to be a light in her family, and we pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen her and speak through her with truth and love.
We pray that God will give her boldness and wisdom to speak what is right and that her godly influence will not be in vain. The Scripture says in Matthew 5:16, Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. And in Proverbs 27:17, Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance. We ask that her brother's heart would be softened to hear correction and that he would be drawn toward repentance rather than hardened against it.
We also pray that nothing that needs to be revealed would remain hidden. You have asked that she not be kept in the dark about the life threatening condition of the apartment that was rented to you and about the serious moral failures involved. We agree that what is done in darkness should be brought into the light, for it is written in Luke 8:17, For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light, and in Ephesians 5:11, Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. We pray that God in His sovereignty would expose any deceit, any negligence that endangered your life, and any attempt to conceal the truth from this sister, so that she can pray and act with full knowledge and so that justice and truth may prevail. We also pray for your protection, for God is our refuge, as Psalm 91:1-2 says, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.
We must also address what you have shared about the sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman. According to Scripture, sex outside of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication, and if either party is married to another, it is adultery, and both are sin in the eyes of God. Hebrews 13:4 says, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, and 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. We pray that both the former landlord and this woman would come under conviction, confess their sin, forsake it, and obtain mercy, for Proverbs 28:13 says, He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them obtains mercy. Marriage is the God ordained lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and any courtship should be with the goal of a godly marriage to another believer in Christ.
Concerning the grave allegation that people were hired to try to kill you, we take this very seriously and we bring it before the Lord who sees all and who is just. We pray for your continued safety and for God to thwart every plan of harm. At the same time we encourage you to seek protection through the proper authorities if you have not already, and to trust vengeance to the Lord, for Romans 12:19 says, Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We also pray as Jesus taught in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you would be given grace to forgive while still seeking truth and accountability.
We now pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to Your throne. We lift up this sister in Christ to You, strengthen her faith, fill her with Your Holy Spirit, give her discernment and courage to speak the truth in love to her brother, and let her life be a testimony that cannot be ignored. Lord, open her eyes to any truth that has been hidden from her concerning this apartment and the conduct of her brother and this woman, and give her wisdom to respond in a way that honors You. We pray for the former landlord, that You would convict him of any wrongdoing, of renting a dangerous dwelling, of sexual immorality, and of any deceit, and lead him to repentance and to making restitution where needed. We pray for this woman as well, that You would bring her to repentance and turn her from immorality and from any evil intent. Lord, we place our fellow believer who was endangered into Your hands, cover them with Your protection, let no weapon formed against them prosper, bring justice in Your perfect time, and grant them peace that surpasses understanding as they trust in You. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
