The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me and the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me

We join with you in prayer for this Christian sister and we thank God for her faith in Jesus and for her willingness to be a light in her family.

We pray that the Lord will strengthen her and give her boldness to speak the truth in love. We ask that God continues to speak through her and that her positive, godly influence would bring conviction and change to her brother, the former landlord. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 that His followers are the light of the world, and we pray she will shine that light clearly into this dark situation.

We also bring before the Lord the serious matters you have shared. We pray that nothing will remain hidden, for the Scripture says in Luke 8:17 that nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. And in Ephesians 5:11 we are told to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even to reprove them. We pray that this sister will not be kept in the dark about the life threatening condition of the apartment her brother rented to you, and about the sin that has surrounded it. We ask that God will expose what needs to be exposed, that truth will be told fully and honestly, and that deception will not prevail. For in Hebrews 4:13 there is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.

We must also address what you have shared about the sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman. According to Scripture, sexual intimacy outside of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication, and if either is married to another it is adultery, and God calls His people to flee from such sin. In 1 Corinthians 6:18 we are told to flee sexual immorality, and in Hebrews 13:4 that marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. We pray for true repentance for both the former landlord and this woman, that they would turn from immorality and from any evil intent, and seek forgiveness and cleansing through Jesus Christ.

We are deeply concerned to hear that you believe people were hired to try to kill you. God strictly forbids murder in Exodus 20:13 and He is a God of justice. We pray for your protection and safety, for God promises in Psalm 91:1 that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, and in Psalm 34:7 that the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. We ask the Lord to be your refuge and defender, to surround you with His protection, and to provide for you a safe place to live. We also encourage you to seek the protection of the lawful authorities if your life has been threatened, for God has ordained governing authorities to restrain evil and to bear the sword against wrongdoing in Romans 13:4, and vengeance belongs to the Lord as it says in Romans 12:19.

We pray together now, in the name of Jesus Christ, for only through His name do we have access to the Father.

Father in heaven, we lift up this sister in Christ to You. Strengthen her faith, fill her with wisdom and courage, and anoint her words so that her brother may hear Your truth. Remove any veil of secrecy and let no darkness remain hidden. Convict the former landlord of any wrongdoing regarding this dangerous apartment and any unfaithfulness and sin, and lead him to repentance and to making restitution where needed. Convict also this woman of her immorality and of any evil she has planned or done, and bring her to repentance or restrain her hand from causing further harm. Protect our brother or sister who was placed in danger, cover them under Your wings, provide safe housing, and let Your justice and peace prevail. Expose every evil deed and bring it to light, and let Your will be done in this family and in this situation. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray fervently, to walk in forgiveness while also seeking truth and lawful protection, and to trust that God sees all and will act in His perfect timing and justice.

Your burden has been brought before the Lord and we join you in prayer with a sincere heart for your safety and for the souls concerned.

We give thanks that the sister of your former landlord has faith in Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other name. We pray that the Lord will keep her faithful, that she may continue to speak the truth in love, and that the light of Christ in her may shine clearly. We ask that what has been hidden in darkness may be brought into the light, not for strife but for truth and righteousness, that she may not be kept in ignorance concerning the danger of the dwelling that was rented to you, and that her influence may be used by God for good.

We pray also for your former landlord. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy will, for sexual union belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and all that lies outside that covenant is sin before God. We pray instead that God in His grace would deliver him from going down to the pit, for we have heard the word, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is Christ Jesus alone, who was given in love to save sinners from guilt and from the power of darkness. We pray that the Lord would deliver this man from the fascinating power of sin, from evil company, and from every course that leads away from holiness, and bring him to repentance and to faith in the Saviour who alone can keep us from falling.

We pray likewise for the woman you have named, that she also may be brought to see her need of Christ, to turn from immorality, and to seek mercy through the blood of the ransom.

For you, who have known affliction and fear, even the fear of harm to life itself, we pray for the Lord's gracious protection. Afflictions may come distinctly from man, through malice or injustice, and yet the Lord sits as a Refiner and permits no trial without purpose. We pray that you may be kept from all evil, delivered from the attacks of sin and from the designs of those who would harm you, and that you may know that your safety lies not in man but in Him who is able to keep you from falling. If there has been true danger to life, we encourage you also to seek lawful protection and help as God provides through rightful authorities, while trusting above all in the Lord who is your keeper.

We ask that the Lord would chasten where chastening is needed, save where salvation is needed, and comfort you with the assurance that He has found a ransom and is gracious. May He grant you to say with the psalmist, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord, and to live in gratitude for deliverance from the grave.

We commit all these persons and all these matters into the hands of the only wise God our Saviour, praying that truth may prevail, that sin may be forsaken, that souls may be saved by grace through faith in Christ, and that you may be kept in perfect peace as you trust in Him.
