The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me and the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me

We join you in lifting up this heavy burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name, for we know that He sees what is done in secret and He is our refuge and protector.

We thank God for the former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus, and we pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen her and speak through her as a light in her family. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 and Matthew 5:16 that His people are the light of the world and should let their light shine before men, and we pray she will have boldness and wisdom to speak truth in love. We pray that she will not be kept in the dark, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed as Luke 12:2 reminds us, and we ask that God will bring into the light the truth about the life threatening conditions of the apartment that was rented to you. We pray that any deception, negligence, or wrongdoing will be exposed, not for revenge but for justice, repentance and safety, as Ephesians 5:11 calls us to expose the unfruitful works of darkness.

We also bring before the Lord the former landlord and the woman you mentioned who had a sexual relationship with him. We must speak clearly that any sexual relationship outside of the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman is sin before God, whether it is fornication or adultery, and God calls all to flee from sexual immorality as 1 Corinthians 6:18 teaches. Marriage is honored by God and the marriage bed is to be kept undefiled as Hebrews 13:4 declares. We pray that both of them will be convicted by the Holy Spirit, that they will repent and turn from immorality and walk in purity, and that God would grant them a new heart as 2 Corinthians 5:17 promises to those who are in Christ.

We hear the seriousness of your concern that people may have been hired to try to harm you, and we pray earnestly for your protection. The Lord is your shelter and fortress in Psalm 91:1 and Psalm 91:2, and we ask Him to command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways as Psalm 91:11 assures us. We pray that God will surround you with His peace that passes understanding as Philippians 4:7 describes, and that He will remove all fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self control as 2 Timothy 1:7 says. We encourage you to not take vengeance into your own hands, for vengeance belongs to the Lord as Romans 12:19 teaches, but to trust God to be your defender and to seek lawful help and protection from the proper authorities if your life is in danger, while continuing to pray for those who have wronged you. We are called to overcome evil with good as Romans 12:21 instructs, and to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us as Matthew 5:44 says, even as we pray for justice to be done.

We pray together now, Father, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and have access to You as Acts 4:12 and John 14:6 declare. Lord, we lift up this sister in Christ and ask that You fill her with wisdom, discernment and courage to speak Your truth to her brother, that her positive influence would lead him to acknowledge any wrong, to turn from sin and to make restitution where needed. Lord, reveal what has been hidden and let Your light shine on this situation. Protect our dear one who has brought this request, cover them with Your hand, keep them safe from every scheme of the enemy, provide safe housing and restore what has been broken. Convict the former landlord and this woman of all sin, including sexual immorality, and draw them to repentance and salvation. Let Your will be done and let Your justice and mercy prevail. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, to trust the Lord to be your advocate, to document what is true and to walk in forgiveness while not excusing sin, knowing that God is both just and merciful and He will bring all things into account in His perfect time.

We hear how heavy this season has been for you, and how much you have been carrying from that apartment situation. Wanting truth to come into the light and wanting someone with a steady faith like his sister to be a good influence makes sense, and we appreciate you bringing both of them to prayer.

We will join you in praying for his sister, that the Lord would keep strengthening her walk with Jesus and give her wisdom and clarity in her relationship with her brother. We also pray for your former landlord, that God would work in his heart in the way only He can.

We also hear how unsafe and distressing you have felt, believing you were in danger there. That is a lot to hold alone. If those feelings of being threatened continue to weigh on you, it can help to talk them through with a trusted pastor or counselor in person who can know you, listen well, and help you think through wise and safe next steps for housing and peace of mind.

Father, we lift this sister to You and ask You to guard and guide her, and to give her discernment. We lift our friend who wrote in and ask for Your protection, Your peace, and Your clear direction over every concern about home and safety. Lead them to supportive people nearby and quiet the fear that has been so heavy. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your burden and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace, where our Lord Jesus Christ alone is our Mediator and Savior.

We pray for the sister of your former landlord who knows the Lord. We thank God for the faith He has given her and we ask that He would strengthen her, uphold her with the right hand of His righteousness, and give her wisdom and boldness to speak the truth in love. May the Lord continue to use her as a faithful witness, that her life and words may point her brother to repentance and to the forgiveness that is found only in Christ.

We pray for your former landlord, that the Lord would open his eyes to see his need of a Savior, and grant him a new heart. Where there has been sin, including sexual immorality outside the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman which God has ordained, we do not ask God to bless that path, but we pray for conviction, for turning from sin, and for cleansing through the blood of Christ. We pray that what has been hidden in darkness concerning the dangerous condition of the apartment entrusted to you would be brought into the light, so that truth may be known and justice may be done.

We pray also for your safety. You have spoken of grave danger and of those who would seek to harm you. Hear the word of the Lord to His own, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you. He is able to keep you from falling and to restrain the rage of men. We ask Him to be your infinite Friend and Keeper, to surround you with His protection, to frustrate every evil purpose against you, and to grant you peace that casts out slavish fear. If you remain in danger, we urge you also to seek the help of lawful authorities whom God has appointed for protection.

We ask that the Lord would redeem this trial for your good, that finding no succor apart from Him, you may fly more fully to Christ your Ark and find rest for the sole of your foot. May He perfect that which concerns you, and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.

We commit you, and this sister, and her brother, and all involved, to the only wise God our Savior, praying that each would look unto Jesus and be saved, for with Him there is mercy and plenteous redemption. Amen.
