The ex landlord sits in the utter darkness of sin…please pray his world is genuinely lightened up

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the landlord (ex) on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

We lift up this ex-landlord before the throne of grace, recognizing the spiritual darkness that may surround him. The Word of God declares in John 8:12, "Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.'" We pray that the light of Christ would pierce through the darkness in his life, exposing any sin, unbelief, or strongholds that keep him from knowing the truth.

Father, we ask that You would draw this man to Yourself with cords of lovingkindness. Soften his heart to receive the gospel message, that he may understand the weight of his sin and the glorious hope found only in Jesus Christ. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:4-6, "The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake; seeing it is God who said, 'Light will shine out of darkness,' who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." Let this light shine brightly in his life, Lord.

We rebuke any spirits of greed, bitterness, or unforgiveness that may have taken root in his heart, especially concerning this rental situation. Your Word commands us in Ephesians 4:31-32, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We pray that he would be freed from any ungodly attitudes and that reconciliation and peace would prevail.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in faith that this situation will be resolved according to Your perfect will. We ask that You would work all things together for good, both for this man and for those affected by his actions (Romans 8:28). May he come to know the depth of Your love and the power of the cross, where Jesus bore the penalty for his sins.

We pray that he would truly lose his life for Christ’s sake, as Luke 9:24 declares, so that he may find it. May he surrender his will, his plans, and his heart to You, Lord Jesus, and experience the abundant life that only You can give (John 10:10). We ask that You would surround him with godly influences, believers who can share the truth of the gospel with him and disciple him in the faith.

Father, we thank You for Your mercy and grace, which are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). We trust in Your power to save, to heal, and to restore. May this man come to know You as his Savior and Lord, and may his life be transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.

We are praying with you for this man, and we are moved by the grace in your request. It is not easy to pray for someone who was once in authority over your living situation, especially when the relationship ended in difficulty. The fact that you are asking God to save him rather than simply keep him out of your life says something real about how the Lord is shaping your own heart.

We do not know what the landlord is facing, but darkness is not a place anyone leaves on their own. So we are asking God to send faithful people into his life, to unsettle whatever false peace he has, and to draw him toward repentance that leads to true life. That is the very thing you prayed from Luke 9:24, and we agree with it.

As you keep praying, one steady step is to release the outcome to God and not let the memory of the rental situation keep reopening a wound. Keep praying by name if you know it, but also ask the Lord to guard your own heart from bitterness while you wait. Sometimes the most powerful thing we do for a hard person is to pray steadily and then entrust the timing to God.

Father, you know this landlord fully, his name, his history, and every burden he carries. Shine your light into his darkness as a rescue, not only an exposure. Grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance and life in Christ. Protect the one praying from resentment, and give them peace as they leave this in your hands. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I thank you for bringing this man before the church in prayer. The text you have brought is faithful and sharp. Whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Christ will save it. Let us not ask first that his outward circumstances be lightened; let us ask that God would so shine into his heart that he may be willing to lose the old life of sin altogether. He sits in darkness, and no one can scatter that darkness but the Lord Jesus, who is the Light of the world. We may indeed pray that the apartment matter be settled with justice and peace, but the greater shadow lies upon the soul, and only the Sun of Righteousness can chase it away.

I join you in praying that he may give his life to our Lord Jesus. Yet saving faith is not a passing wish. It is coming to Christ. He is a living Person, full of power to save, and the sinner must come to Him for everything. The man cannot keep a portion of his own righteousness or a portion of his own will. Christ will have the whole heart or none at all. We must not ask God to bless the man's sin, but we may ask God to have mercy upon the sinner, to break the chains of darkness, and to lead him to repentance. The Lord is able to do this. He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and His arm is not shortened.

Where your prayer says, "we declare victory," I would have you turn that word into earnest supplication. We declare no victory over another man's soul as if by our own authority. We plead the victory of the cross. Christ has conquered sin and Satan, and we may ask Him to take the spoils. But the proud heart yields only when grace makes it willing. Beseech the Lord to make this man willing in the day of His power. Pray that the strong man armed may be bound, that the eyes of the blind may be opened, and that he may know that godly sorrow which worketh repentance to salvation. That is a victory worth more than any settlement of tenancies.

Do not cease to pray for him. You may be the only one standing in the gap for this soul. Ask for the Spirit of grace and supplication to be poured upon him, that he may look upon Him whom he has pierced and mourn. Ask that he may not die in indifference, making light of the gospel and of the banquet which God has provided. But hope also. The very fact that you are stirred to pray may be a token of mercy. We are tenants at the absolute will of God, holding our breath from second to second. This man's lease of earthly life is no safer than our own. Pray then with urgency, but with humility. Pray that his world be truly lightened by the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, and that he may count all else loss for the excellency of that knowledge. This is the true lightening: to find Christ, and in finding Him to be delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God's dear Son.

Let us pray. Lord Jesus, You reign over all darkness. We bring before You this man who is a stranger to his own soul and to You. We do not ask that his sin be made easy, but that his sin be forgiven and forsaken. Loose the bonds that hold him. Let the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ shine into his heart. Show him that to save his old life is to lose it, and give him grace to lose all for Your sake, that he may save it for eternity. We ask this for Your mercy's sake and in Your name. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have set Luke 9:24 before us, and it is the right prayer for a man in spiritual darkness. But the darkness is not mainly the rented apartment or the dispute with the landlord. The darkness is in the soul that still wants to save its life apart from Christ. Christ called Himself the light because He delivers from error and dissolves mental darkness. So the world is genuinely lightened only when the man loses his life for Christ and passes from the night of unbelief into the day of faith.

I join you in asking, but let us not declare victory over the apartment as if that were the true battle. The true battle is for the landlord's soul. The present time is night for those who continue in wickedness and unbelief, and the command is to put away the works of darkness. If he comes to know the true God and confesses Christ, he will no longer have a cloak for his sin, and he will receive the only light that saves. Let us also remember that Christ died once for sin; there is no second laver waiting for him. This present time is the day to believe.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, you reign over all darkness, and your light expels error and uncleanness. We ask your mercy on this ex landlord. Grant him to see that whoever wants to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for you will save it. Take away his love of sin, break the darkness in his mind, and bring him to repentance and the knowledge of Christ. No one can withstand your mighty power, so we ask mercy and grace. Let every circumstance, including this rented apartment, become a means of his awakening and not a cause of pride or dispute for us. We thank you for your love and faithfulness. In Jesus' name we ask. Amen.

While you wait for God to work, do not rush into conflict. When you are summoned to stand, stand nobly, but when you are not summoned, be quiet and pray, so that your victory may be more glorious and your mercy to the man more plain.

Your request reflects a right understanding of the spiritual need here, and it is good to bring this man before the Lord in prayer.

The verse you mentioned goes to the heart of the gospel. Whoever tries to cling to his own life and his own way will lose it in the end, but whoever surrenders his life to Jesus will find true life and save it. There is no other way of escape. God has provided one great salvation, and it is open to all, but it must be received. His grace that brings salvation has appeared, and Scripture urges us not to put it off, for now is the accepted time and now is the day of salvation.

The Bible is clear about darkness and light. To walk in sin is to walk in darkness, and no one can have fellowship with God while walking in darkness. Light has no fellowship with darkness, and Christ has no agreement with what opposes Him. The darkness you describe is not just a difficult circumstance, it is the spiritual condition of being separated from God by sin. Yet God reigns over the darkness. He is self existent and eternal, the One who first commanded light to shine out of darkness, and His light still expels darkness. When Jesus came, the true light began to shine, and those who turn to Him are turned from darkness to light and from the power of the adversary into the kingdom of God.

That is why the prayer for this landlord must be for genuine salvation. He does not only need his situation lightened, he needs his heart cleansed. If he will confess his sin and submit to the lordship of Jesus Christ and believe that God raised Him from the dead, he will be saved. The promise is that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness through the blood of Jesus His Son.

Let us pray together for him.

Lord Jesus, You reign over all darkness and Your light drives it away. We ask for Your mercy and grace upon this man who is still in darkness and sin. By Your Holy Spirit convict him of his need and draw him to Yourself. Grant him repentance and faith so that he will lose his life for Your sake and thereby save it. Forgive his sins, cleanse him, and bring him out of darkness into Your marvelous light. Let him confess You as Lord and receive the great salvation You alone provide. We ask this in Your name, trusting in Your love, faithfulness and mighty power. Amen.
