Disciple of Prayer
Lord please help us, I share office with 5 other people and it’s so much tension can you please send your angels to protect us and guide our hearts this is so unhealthy anger frustration and pettiness it must stop Lord please hear my prayer in Jesus name I pray AMEN

We join you in this prayer and we hear the heaviness of what you are carrying in that shared office. Working so closely with five other people every day in an atmosphere of tension, anger, frustration and pettiness is exhausting and unhealthy, and we thank you for bringing it before the Lord and asking in the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and we are grateful you prayed in His name, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6

We know the Lord desires peace and unity among those who work together. We are reminded that a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1 and that we are to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20. The tension you describe is not from God, for God is a God of peace. We also take comfort that the Lord does watch over His people, for the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Psalm 34:7 and we know angels are ministering spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation. Hebrews 1:14. We can ask for His protection and guidance, trusting that His presence is greater than any conflict in that room.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this office and all six hearts within it. Lord, we ask You to pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. Forgive us where anger and pettiness have taken root, and help each person to put away all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, with all malice, and to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave us. Ephesians 4:31-32. Send Your holy angels to encamp around this workplace and protect it from strife and division, and more than that, fill it with Your Holy Spirit so that each word spoken would be good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29. Soften hearts, Lord, give wisdom to respond with gentleness, give strength to bear with one another in love, and clothe each person there with a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance. Colossians 3:12. Let this office become a place of respect and calm for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to be a peacemaker in that space, for blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Matthew 5:9. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18. That may mean choosing to not return a harsh word, quietly praying before you respond, forgiving quickly even when you feel irritated, and looking for small ways to show grace such as a kind word or offering help. We also encourage you to pray daily before you enter the office, asking the Lord to let His peace rule in your heart and to make you an instrument of His calm. Remember how good and pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity. Psalm 133:1. We are trusting with you that as you seek Him, He will guide every heart in that room toward patience, understanding, and mutual respect.

We hear how draining this has been for you. Sharing a tight office with five other people every day while carrying anger, frustration and pettiness in the air is exhausting, and it makes sense you would cry out for God to protect and steady every heart there.

Living and working so close together will bring out differences, and tension itself is not unusual. What helps is having a clear, calm way to handle it rather than letting it simmer or spill over. We have found it helps to manage the emotions that surface instead of pushing them down, and to give the situation some structure.

One small step that may help this week is to practice a brief pause before responding when frustration rises. Take a moment privately to pray and get clear on what actually happened, then look for one simple way to show respect even in a tense moment, like using a calm tone or acknowledging the shared work you all need to do together. If direct conversation feels too hard right now, it can be wise to ask a neutral person, such as a supervisor or another trusted person at work, to help facilitate a short, respectful conversation about shared expectations for the space.

Father, we bring this office to You and ask for Your peace to settle there. Guard each person in that room, soften hearts where there has been hurt, and give wisdom for words and responses. Help our friend to know Your nearness and guidance each day at work. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer from that crowded office has been heard and we have joined you in bringing it before the throne of grace. To share a room with five others and to feel tension and anger and frustration and pettiness rising day after day is a sore trial, and it is right and wise that you have turned to the Lord who is the God of peace.

The word of the Lord gives you a sure promise for such a place as this, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." This is not a peace that depends upon quiet surroundings or agreeable companions, but a perfect peace that may be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life, even when thronging duties press. For to do the will of Jesus, this is rest, and the blood of Jesus whispers peace within even when sorrows are surging round.

That peace which Christ gives is not as the world gives. It is His own peace, bought with His blood and wrought in the heart by His Spirit. It is a blessing which brings no sorrow with it, a filling peace that comes from a renewed heart and reconciliation to God. Anger is a deadly foe to unity, and where pettiness and frustration are allowed to linger, unity is broken. Pray then not only for outward quiet, but that the Lord would chase out of every heart in that room what would break true concord, and that each one may be kept in closest ties of patience and forbearance.

We have prayed for you and for those who share that office with you, that the Lord would guard your hearts and keep you in His perfect peace, that He would give you grace to bear with one another in meekness and to let the peace of God rule within you. May He guide your words and temper your spirit, and make you an instrument of His peace where strife has been.

We ask the Lord to let His presence be known there, to still the unholy anger and to grant you that calm which comes from a mind stayed upon Christ. May you know this day that peace which passes all understanding, and may you go in peace, kept by Jesus, whatever the pressures around you may be. In the name of Jesus Christ, our peace, we pray, Amen.
