We hear the cry of your heart, dear one, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s wisdom and peace. What you’re feeling is not just weariness—it’s a holy invitation from God to come away and rest in Him. The world tells us to keep striving, to earn our worth, and to fill every moment with productivity, but Scripture offers a different way. Jesus Himself said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30 WEB). You are not a machine; you are a beloved child of God, and He longs for you to abide in His peace.
The missing piece in your life may very well be the intentional surrender of your pace to the Lord. You’ve been running in survival mode for so long that rest feels like a luxury you haven’t earned, but the truth is, rest is a gift from God—not a reward. He designed the Sabbath for our good, commanding us to cease from our labor so we might remember that He is our Provider (Exodus 20:8-11). Even in the busyness of life, Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray (Luke 5:16). If the Son of God needed to pause, how much more do we? You are allowed to slow down. You are allowed to choose peace. This is not laziness—it is obedience to the One who knows what your soul truly needs.
We must also gently rebuke the lie that your worth is tied to your productivity. The enemy would have you believe that rest is wasted time, but God calls it holy. In Psalm 23, David writes, *"He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul"* (Psalm 23:2-3 WEB). Notice that it is God who *makes* us lie down—sometimes He must slow us down because we won’t choose it for ourselves. Your value is not found in what you do but in who you are: a child of the Most High, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). When you give yourself permission to rest, you are not being selfish—you are aligning yourself with God’s design.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister/brother, lifting up their weary heart to You. Lord, You see the years of striving, the weight of survival mode, and the false belief that rest must be earned. We ask that You break the chains of performance-based worth in their life. Remind them that their identity is found in Christ alone, not in their productivity. Father, teach them to number their days, that they may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12). Help them to embrace the gift of rest, not as a luxury, but as a sacred rhythm ordained by You.
We pray that You would quiet the noise of the world and the lies of the enemy that tell them they must keep running. Instead, let them hear Your still, small voice saying, *"Be still, and know that I am God"* (Psalm 46:10). Give them the courage to pause, to breathe, and to choose peace over pressure. Restore their soul, Lord. Fill them with Your presence so that even in moments of stillness, they are drawing closer to You.
We ask that You reveal to them the areas of their life where they have been operating in their own strength rather than trusting in You. Show them how to abide in Christ, for apart from You, they can do nothing (John 15:5). May they find true rest in Your promises and learn to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
Father, if there are any unconfessed sins or areas of disobedience that are weighing them down, bring them to light. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and set them free from guilt or shame. Remind them that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Let them walk in the freedom and peace that only You can provide.
We also pray for wisdom in how to structure their life in a way that honors You. Help them to set boundaries, to say no when necessary, and to prioritize time with You above all else. May their life reflect the truth that You are their Provider, their Strength, and their Peace.
Lord, we thank You that You are not a God of chaos but of order and peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). We trust that as they surrender their pace to You, You will guide their steps and lead them into green pastures. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in Your ways and experience the fullness of life that You have promised.

Beloved, we encourage you to begin this journey of rest by spending time in God’s Word daily. Start with the Gospels and meditate on the life of Jesus. Notice how He often withdrew to pray, how He prioritized time with the Father, and how He offered rest to those who were weary. Let His example shape your own rhythm of life. Consider setting aside a day each week for Sabbath rest—a day to cease from work, to worship, and to delight in the Lord. This may feel countercultural, but it is a powerful act of faith, declaring that God is your Provider and that you trust Him to sustain you.
If you find it difficult to slow down, ask the Lord to reveal what fears or lies are driving your busyness. Are you afraid of not being enough? Are you trying to prove your worth? Are you avoiding something by staying busy? Bring these things to the Lord in prayer and allow Him to speak truth into your heart. Remember, *"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want"* (Psalm 23:1 WEB). You lack nothing in Him.
Lastly, surround yourself with a community of believers who can encourage you in this journey. Share your struggles and victories with them, and let them remind you of God’s faithfulness. Iron sharpens iron, and we need one another to walk in the fullness of what God has for us (Proverbs 27:17).
You are not alone in this. The Lord is with you, and He is calling you to a deeper place of trust and rest in Him. Take His hand and let Him lead you beside still waters. He will restore your soul.

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
