Beloved of All
Your thanksgiving is pleasing to the Lord and it is right to come before Him in this way. Scripture calls us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, to be thankful to Him and bless His name, because the Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures through all generations. When we remember that, thanksgiving is not meant for a single moment but becomes the way we live before Him, coming into His presence with a joyful noise and serving Him with gladness out of a heart of love.
It is good that you look back and see how far He has brought you. Spiritual growth is often like seed sown in the heart. You do not always see it day by day, but the Word takes root and brings forth life, first the blade, then the head, then the full grain. Much of that work is quiet and even unconscious at the time, and then you look back and you can say, I see what the Lord has done and how He has carried me. Every opportunity, every lesson, every challenge and achievement and every person He has placed along your journey has been part of His shaping hand.
Continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving. Persistence in prayer is not to change the mind of God but to keep your own heart alert and awake before Him. Jesus urged His disciples to watch and pray, to stay alert. As you keep praying with thanksgiving, stay watchful for what God is doing, for the doors He has already opened and for those He is preparing to open.
As He continues to shape your character and increase your knowledge, seek His guidance in each step of your personal life and career. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. Like David who inquired of the Lord before each move, look to the Holy Spirit for real direction for timing, for decisions, for the use of the gifts He has given you. He who has been faithful to bring you this far will be faithful to guide you according to His purpose.
Shall we pray. Father, we thank You with all our hearts for Your goodness and mercy that has followed this life. Thank You for every open door and for every lesson in the waiting. Continue to plant Your Word deeply, to form Christlike character, to give wisdom and knowledge, and to guide each step of this career according to Your perfect will. Keep this heart watchful and thankful and always near to You. In Jesus name, Amen.
