We stand with you in prayer, asking God to heal and restore you from the effects of drug abuse and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus Christ in your prayer. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father and receive His blessings. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
And in Acts 4:12 WEB:
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Let us pray together:
Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is battling the effects of drug abuse and PTSD. Lord, you are the Great Physician, and we ask that you heal them completely.
Lord, we rebuke the spirits of addiction, trauma, and mental distress that have been tormenting our dear friend. The enemy has no power over them, for Jesus has conquered the grave and set us free from sin and death. We thank you for the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us, convicting and empowering us to overcome every stronghold.
Father, we ask that you destroy the effects of drug abuse in their life, including the altered memories and favoritisms that have been caused by these substances. We pray for their complete healing and restoration, that they may find peace, health, recovery, strengthening, progress, and providence in Jesus' name.
Lord, we also ask that you heal them from the symptoms of PTSD, including the head shaking, impulsive self-answers, and the trauma that has caused them so much pain. We pray that you would replace these symptoms with a sound mind, a calm spirit, and a heart that is fully surrendered to you.
Father, we thank you for your faithfulness and your promise to never leave us nor forsake us. We ask that you would surround our friend with your love, your peace, and your comfort, and that you would guide them through this journey of healing and restoration.
We quote the following verses:
2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB:
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
Isaiah 53:5 WEB:
But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.
Philippians 4:6-7 WEB:
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We encourage you to continue to seek God's face during this time, to trust in His promises, and to allow Him to work in your life. Remember that God is faithful, and He will complete the good work that He has started in you.
Finally, we leave you with this encouragement from Galatians 6:9 WEB:
Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up.
Keep fighting the good fight of faith, and know that we are standing with you in prayer. Continue to seek the face of God and speak the name of Jesus Christ over your life.
