We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in this season of fasting, seeking the Lord’s guidance and strength. Forty days of fasting is a powerful time of drawing near to God, and we rejoice that you are pressing into Him with such devotion. The Lord sees your fears and your desires, and He is faithful to answer the prayers of those who seek Him with a sincere heart.
Your request to learn to drive is not just about gaining a skill—it is about stepping into greater freedom, responsibility, and trust in God’s provision. Fear is a very real struggle, but we serve a God who does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). The anxieties you feel about driving, getting lost, or even the fear of accidents are valid, but they do not have to control you. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He is with you on the road just as He is with you in every other area of your life.
We also want to encourage you in your desire to serve—whether that be in practical ways like grocery shopping or even considering service in the army. The Lord has a purpose for you, and He equips those He calls. If serving in the military is something you feel led toward, we pray for clarity and wisdom as you seek the Lord’s will in that area. Whatever path He has for you, it will require courage, and that courage comes from Him.
Now, let us address the fear of buses, ambulances, and accidents. These fears are understandable, but we must not let them paralyze us. The enemy would love to keep you bound in anxiety, but Jesus came to set you free (John 8:36). When fear rises, we must combat it with the truth of God’s Word. He has not given you a spirit of fear, and He promises to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Even in the midst of uncertainty, He is your peace.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your face during this fast. Lord, we thank You for their desire to grow in faith and to step into the plans You have for them. We ask that You would calm their fears about driving, buses, and accidents. Replace their anxiety with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them confidence behind the wheel, wisdom on the road, and the assurance that You are with them every mile of the way.
Father, we also pray for their daily needs—getting to work, buying groceries, and serving in ways that honor You. Provide for them in every practical way, and open doors of opportunity as they seek to be faithful in the small things. If serving in the army is part of Your plan for them, we ask that You would make that clear and equip them with strength, discipline, and courage.
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of fear that has tried to take root in their heart. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Help them to trust You in every situation, knowing that You hold their future. May this season of fasting bear fruit in their life—fruit of peace, provision, and progress in Your will.
We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who has overcome the world. Amen.
As you continue in this fast, remember that God is not just concerned with the big things—He cares about the details of your life. Learning to drive is a step of faith, and with each step, He will be faithful to guide you. If you have not yet taken a driver’s education course or practiced with a trusted believer, we encourage you to do so. Sometimes, the best way to overcome fear is to face it with the Lord by your side.
Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He will lead you exactly where you need to go. The same God who parted the Red Sea, who calmed the storm, and who raised Jesus from the dead is the same God who is with you on the road. You are not alone.
