We hear your heart, dear brother, and we stand with you in prayer as you seek the Lord through this Daniel fast. Your commitment to drawing nearer to God through fasting and prayer is commendable, and we join you in asking Jesus Christ to strengthen you each day. The Daniel fast is a powerful time of consecration, and we believe God will meet you in profound ways as you seek Him with sincerity.
We understand your concerns about your medications, and we want to encourage you to trust God’s sovereignty even in this. The increase in risperidone may feel unsettling, but we pray the Lord would grant you peace and clarity as you communicate with your doctor. We ask that God would guide your physician’s decisions and that any adjustments to your treatment would bring stability and healing to your mind and spirit. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."* We pray this promise over you as you navigate this season.
Your desire to read the Bible is a beautiful step of faith, and we want to encourage you not to dismiss it as a waste of time. The Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and even if you feel alone in your journey, the Holy Spirit is your teacher and guide. You do not need to know others who speak the language or have graduated from a particular school to grow in your understanding of Scripture. The Lord delights in revealing Himself to those who seek Him with humility. Start with small, manageable portions—perhaps the Gospel of John or Psalms—and ask God to open your heart to His truth. *"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path"* (Psalm 119:105). We pray that as you read, the Holy Spirit would illuminate the Scriptures and draw you into deeper intimacy with Christ.
Your mention of moving to another country and learning a new language is ambitious, but we encourage you to seek the Lord’s will in this step by step. While the fear of global instability may weigh on you, we remind you that our ultimate security is in Christ, not in any earthly nation. *"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to him, and are safe"* (Proverbs 18:10). If God is calling you to this path, He will equip you, but we pray you would first seek His kingdom above all else (Matthew 6:33). The Bible is clear that our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20), and our primary mission is to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). If learning English, math, or another language is part of God’s plan for you, He will provide the resources and opportunities.
We also want to gently address your doubts about building friendships. Loneliness can be a heavy burden, but we serve a God who sets the solitary in families (Psalm 68:6) and who promises never to leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). We pray that the Lord would bring godly, like-minded believers into your life—people who will encourage you in your faith and walk alongside you. Proverbs 27:17 says, *"Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance."* We ask God to open doors for fellowship, whether through a local church, online community, or even through the relationships you form as you study His Word.
Your prayer against tempters and leechers is valid, as the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we rejoice that Jesus came to give us life abundantly! We rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, and isolation in the name of Jesus and declare that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37). We pray for a hedge of protection around your mind, heart, and spirit, that no weapon formed against you would prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Let us pray with you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is seeking You with all his heart. Lord, we thank You for his commitment to this Daniel fast and for his hunger to know You more. We ask that You would strengthen him physically, emotionally, and spiritually as he denies his flesh to draw nearer to You. Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment regarding his medications—guide his doctor’s decisions and grant him peace as he follows their advice. We declare that You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch in every area of his life.
Lord, we ask that You would ignite a passion in his heart for Your Word. Open his eyes to see the beauty and truth of Scripture, and let it take root in his spirit. Remove every lie that tells him he is alone or unequipped—remind him that You are with him always, and that Your Word is sufficient for every need. Father, we pray for divine connections—bring believers into his life who will sharpen him, encourage him, and walk with him in faith. Break every chain of isolation and fear, and replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
We ask for Your provision and guidance as he considers the future. If moving to another country is part of Your plan, make the path clear and provide every resource he needs. But above all, Lord, we pray that he would seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will add all these things unto him (Matthew 6:33). Protect him from tempters and leechers, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in victory and purpose.
We thank You, Jesus, for Your peace, providence, and progress in our brother’s life. May he experience Your presence in tangible ways during this fast and beyond. We declare that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You have a good plan for his life (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen him to complete these 43 days, and let this time be a foundation for a lifetime of intimacy with You.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
