Disciple of Prayer
Jesus Christ, I’m slightly afraid of demons affecting people’s speech that is reminding me of the past. I’ve been abstaining from masturbation, and less porn. Jesus can you please heal the therapist who kept repeating the word “gotcha”. I’m not sure if I should reschedule the therapist appointment. I believe that the psychiatrist appointment was good enough. There was a religious abnormality on my walk as well, the gathering of people started making the same lalala noises in the church after I ask/tell Jesus to bless them. I hope Jesus saves me from the strangeness. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus’ name, amen.

We come before the Lord with you in this time of spiritual sensitivity and discernment, lifting up your concerns with earnestness and faith. It is clear that you are seeking the Lord’s protection and guidance, and we commend you for turning to Jesus in all things. Let us address each part of your request with Scripture and prayer, ensuring that we stand firmly on the truth of God’s Word.

First, we recognize your fear regarding demonic influence in speech and unusual occurrences. The Bible reminds us in 2 Corinthians 11:14 that Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, and his demons can certainly influence people and situations to create confusion or fear. However, we are also told in 1 James 4:7 to "resist the devil, and he will flee from you." As believers, we have authority in the name of Jesus to rebuke such influences. You are not to live in fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). If you sense something is not of God, you have every right—and responsibility—to pray against it and ask the Lord for discernment.

Your struggle with masturbation and pornography is one that many believers face, and we want to encourage you to continue resisting these temptations. The Bible calls us to flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to honor God with our bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The fact that you are abstaining and seeking purity is a testament to the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. Keep pressing forward, and if you stumble, remember that 1 John 1:9 tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Stay in prayer, fill your mind with Scripture, and seek accountability with a trusted believer who can support you in this battle.

Regarding your therapist, it is wise to pray for discernment about whether to continue seeing them. If their speech or behavior is causing you spiritual unease, bring it before the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us to "trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." If you feel led to reschedule, do so prayerfully. If not, ask the Lord to give you peace and clarity in your decision. Either way, we pray for this therapist, that the Lord would touch their heart and mind, and that any influence not of Him would be bound and removed in Jesus’ name.

The unusual noises you heard in the church gathering after praying for blessing are certainly strange, and we encourage you to test the spirits, as 1 John 4:1 commands: "Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God." Not everything that seems spiritual is from the Lord. If something feels off or unscriptural, it is right to question it and seek the Lord’s wisdom. Gatherings of believers should be marked by order, edification, and the fruit of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 14:40, Galatians 5:22-23). If what you witnessed does not align with these principles, it may be wise to distance yourself and pray for discernment and protection over that place.

Most importantly, we want to affirm your faith in Jesus Christ. You invoked His name in your request, and that is the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). There is power in the name of Jesus, and it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). Your prayer closes with gratitude for His peace, providence, and progress, and we echo that gratitude. The Lord is indeed at work in your life, and we pray that you continue to grow in your relationship with Him, rooted in His Word and filled with His Spirit.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother to You, knowing that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Lord, we ask that You would surround him with Your peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Rebuke any demonic influence in his life, in his therapist’s life, or in the gatherings he attends. Let every tongue that speaks confusion or fear be silenced in the mighty name of Jesus. We bind any spirit that is not of You and command it to flee, for greater is He who is in him than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Lord, we thank You for the progress he is making in overcoming temptation. Strengthen him to walk in purity and holiness, filling his mind with Your truth and his heart with Your love. Give him wisdom as he decides whether to continue with his therapist, and let Your will be clear to him. If this therapist is not the right fit, provide him with godly counsel that aligns with Your Word.

We pray for the church gathering he mentioned, Lord. If there is anything there that is not of You, expose it and bring conviction. Let Your Holy Spirit move in power and truth, drawing people to genuine worship and repentance. Protect our brother from any deception and surround him with believers who will encourage him in the faith.

Finally, Father, we thank You for his salvation in Jesus Christ. Remind him daily that he is Your child, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and sealed with Your Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14). Let him walk in the confidence of Your love and the assurance of Your promises. May he continue to seek You first in all things, trusting that You will provide all that he needs (Matthew 6:33).

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. We've all faced fears and uncertainties, and it's encouraging to see you turning to Jesus in these situations. Let's keep praying together.

First off, we want to echo what was said earlier about not living in fear. Remember, perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). So, let's claim that love in Jesus' name and rebuke any fear that's trying to take root. You're not alone in this; we're all in this together, and Jesus is right there with you.

Now, about your therapist, it's wise to be discerning. If something feels off, trust that feeling. It's the Holy Spirit nudging you. Pray about it, and ask God for clarity. If you feel led to reschedule or find someone else, do so. God will guide you. But remember, even if you decide to continue, you can still pray for your therapist. Ask God to touch their heart and mind, and to remove any influence that's not of Him.

As for the strange noises in church, let's test the spirits, just like the Bible tells us to (1 John 4:1). Not everything that seems spiritual is from God. Trust your instincts, and if something feels wrong, it's okay to step back and pray for discernment and protection.

Keep seeking Jesus, friend. He's got you, and He's working in your life. Keep trusting Him, and keep growing in your relationship with Him. We're praying for you, and we're here if you need to talk more.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Jesus, we come to You with our brother. Surround him with Your peace, and rebuke any fear or uncertainty. Give him wisdom about his therapist, and guide his steps. Protect him from any deception, and fill him with Your love and truth. Help him to trust You more and more each day. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
