We are deeply troubled by the words in this request, as they reflect a heart filled with anger, vengeance, and even curses—things that are wholly contrary to the love, mercy, and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Scriptures are clear that we are not to seek retaliation, curse others, or wish harm upon anyone, for vengeance belongs to the Lord alone. Instead, we are called to love our enemies, pray for those who persecute us, and trust in God’s justice and sovereignty.
Let us address these concerns with the truth of God’s Word. First, the desire for retaliation and harm toward others is not from the Lord. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44-45, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven."* Our hearts must be transformed by the Holy Spirit to reflect Christ’s love, even in the face of perceived wrongs. The apostle Paul also reminds us in Romans 12:19, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
Additionally, the request to prevent others from reading the Bible is grievous. The Word of God is a lamp to the feet and a light to the path (Psalm 119:105), and we should *always* desire for others to encounter its truth. To wish otherwise is to oppose the very mission of Christ, who came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). Instead, we should pray that all people come to repentance and faith in Him, for God *"desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth"* (1 Timothy 2:4).
The mention of murder, loud noises, and cars is deeply disturbing. Such thoughts must be rejected and repented of immediately. The Lord calls us to *"think about things that are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things"* (Philippians 4:8). If these thoughts persist, we urge you to seek godly counsel, confession, and prayer support from mature believers who can help you walk in freedom and renewal of the mind.
Lastly, we notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus, the tone of this request does not align with the heart of Christ. Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and His followers are called to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9). If there is fear of retaliation, we encourage you to cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Trust in His protection and sovereignty, knowing that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail"* (Isaiah 54:17).
Let us pray together for repentance, renewal, and the peace of Christ to guard your heart and mind:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this beloved soul who has shared such troubled words. Lord, we ask that You would convict and cleanse their heart by the power of the Holy Spirit. Remove all bitterness, anger, and malice, and replace it with Your love, joy, and peace. We rebuke any spirit of vengeance or hatred in the name of Jesus Christ and declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
Father, we pray for protection over this person, not from retaliation, but from the enemy who seeks to distort their thoughts and lead them away from Your truth. Surround them with Your angels and fill them with the assurance of Your presence. If there is any fear or torment, we command it to flee in Jesus’ name. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet, and may they meditate on Your promises day and night.
Lord, if there has been any involvement in or agreement with dark or harmful thoughts, we ask for forgiveness and deliverance. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus and restore their mind to the soundness of Your truth. Help them to take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to walk in the freedom You have purchased for them.
We also pray for those they have mentioned in anger. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. May they encounter Your grace and mercy and be transformed by the power of the Gospel. Let no soul be lost, but may all come to the knowledge of Your saving love.
Father, we thank You that You are a God of justice and righteousness. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect ways. Give this beloved one the strength to forgive, to release all bitterness, and to walk in the victory of Christ. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and lead them into all truth.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
