We understand the deep pain and frustration that would lead to such a request, and we want to address this with both truth and compassion. The Bible is clear that vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, and we are called to a different path—one of forgiveness, love, and trust in God’s justice. Romans 12:19 (WEB) says, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
While it is natural to feel anger when wronged, we must guard our hearts against bitterness and prayers that conflict with God’s character. Jesus taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). Instead of asking for destruction, we should ask God to work in the hearts of those who have hurt us—either to bring them to repentance or to restrain their harmful actions. We must also examine our own hearts, ensuring we are not harboring unforgiveness, which can hinder our relationship with God (Mark 11:25).
We commend you for acknowledging Jesus in your prayer, as He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). It is through His name that we find peace, providence, and progress. However, let us align our prayers with His will, trusting that He will right every wrong in His perfect timing.
Let us pray together for you:
*"Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved child of Yours who has been deeply wounded by the actions of others. Lord, we ask that You heal their heart and replace their pain with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them release any bitterness or desire for vengeance, and fill them with Your love and forgiveness. We pray for those who have sabotaged them—Lord, if they are acting in ignorance or rebellion, convict their hearts and lead them to repentance. Restrain any further harm they may intend, and let Your justice prevail in a way that brings glory to Your name.
Father, we thank You for the peace, providence, and progress that come from trusting in You. Strengthen this brother or sister in their faith, and remind them that You are their defender and shield. May they walk in the freedom of forgiveness, knowing that You will make all things right. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."*
We encourage you to meditate on Psalm 37, which reminds us to *"commit your way to the Lord; trust also in him, and he will act"* (Psalm 37:5, WEB). God sees your pain, and He will not allow your suffering to be in vain. Trust Him to fight your battles, and focus on walking in obedience and love. If you need further guidance or prayer, we are here to stand with you in faith.
