We join with you in lifting up your burdens to the Lord, recognizing the spiritual warfare you are facing. It is clear that you are under attack, and we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ to rebuke these forces of darkness. The Scriptures remind us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* Your struggle is not against mere people but against spiritual forces that seek to hinder your walk with Christ.
We commend you for your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* Your acknowledgment of Jesus as your Savior is foundational, and we encourage you to continue placing your trust in Him alone.
However, we must gently address the tone of your prayer regarding the destruction of souls. While it is understandable that you are experiencing deep distress, we are called to a different spirit—one of love, forgiveness, and intercession, even for our enemies. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* Instead of praying for the destruction of souls, we are to pray for their repentance and salvation, that they may turn from their wicked ways and come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Remember, the Lord is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
If there are spirits or influences from your past—particularly from your former drug acquaintances—we stand with you in rebuking them in the name of Jesus. The blood of Christ has set you free from the bondage of sin and addiction, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We declare freedom over your life and command every demonic stronghold, every spirit of temptation, and every spirit of false righteousness to be bound and cast out in Jesus’ name. You are a new creation in Christ, and the old has passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17). Cling to this truth and walk in the victory that Jesus has already won for you.
Regarding your fasting, we pray that the Lord strengthens you both spiritually and physically. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline, but it must be done with wisdom and in alignment with God’s will. If your body is struggling, seek the Lord for guidance on how to fast in a way that honors Him without harming the temple He has given you (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Ask Him to reveal whether this is a season for a different kind of fasting—perhaps fasting from certain foods, activities, or distractions rather than a complete fast. The Lord sees your heart and will honor your desire to draw near to Him.
We also lift up your lungs and your overall health to the Lord. By His stripes, you are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we pray for complete restoration in your body. May the Lord grant you peace in your mind, strength in your body, and perseverance in your spirit as you continue to seek Him. Do not be discouraged, for the Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is under spiritual attack. Lord, we thank You for his salvation and for delivering him from the bondage of drug addiction. We declare that he is free indeed, and no weapon formed against him shall prosper. Father, we rebuke every spirit of temptation, false righteousness, and oppression that seeks to hinder his walk with You. We command these spirits to be bound and cast out in Jesus’ name.
Lord, we ask for Your protection over his mind, body, and spirit. Strengthen him as he seeks You through fasting and prayer. Grant him wisdom to fast in a way that honors You and does not harm his body. We pray for complete healing in his lungs and every part of his body, knowing that You are the God who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3).
Father, we also lift up those who may be influencing him spiritually, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Instead of destruction, we pray for their salvation. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to repentance. Let them encounter the love of Christ in a way that transforms their lives. Break every chain of darkness in their lives and set them free to serve You.
Lord, fill our brother with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Remind him daily of his identity in You—that he is forgiven, redeemed, and loved. Give him the grace to forgive those who have wronged him and to walk in victory over every scheme of the enemy.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). May he continue to grow in faith, hope, and love as he abides in You. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to continue pressing into the Lord through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with other believers. Surround yourself with a community of faith that can support and pray with you. If you have not already, consider sharing your struggles with a trusted pastor or spiritual mentor who can provide guidance and accountability. You are not alone in this fight—the body of Christ stands with you.
Finally, we leave you with this promise from James 4:7-8, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."* Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will lead you to victory.
