We join you in lifting up your heart’s cry to our Lord Jesus Christ, for it is in His mighty name alone that we find deliverance, strength, and victory over every scheme of the enemy. You have done well to call upon Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Your acknowledgment of Jesus as your Savior and your reliance on His authority is foundational, and we praise God that you are seeking Him in this way.
The spirit of demotivation and distraction you describe is a tactic of the enemy to steal your time, peace, and purpose. The Bible warns us to *"be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"* (1 Peter 5:8, WEB). This spirit seeks to keep you from the good works God has prepared for you, but take heart—Jesus has already overcome the world, and in Him, you too can walk in victory. *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). We encourage you to resist these distractions by filling your mind with the Word of God, for *"whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things"* (Philippians 4:8, WEB). Set your mind on things above, and the Lord will renew your strength.
As for the spirit of revenge that has taken root over such a small offense—walking in front of the TV—we must address this with urgency, for it is a dangerous stronghold that can grow into bitterness and defilement. The Word of God commands us, *"Don’t say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you"* (Proverbs 20:22, WEB). Revenge is not ours to take; it belongs to the Lord. *"Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21, WEB). This spirit of offense is not from God, and if left unchecked, it will poison your heart and hinder your walk with Christ. We urge you to release this to Jesus right now. Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you, for *"if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:15, WEB). Let go of this anger, and ask the Lord to fill you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding.
You have also thanked Jesus for peace, providence, and progress, and we agree with you in gratitude for these blessings. The peace of God is a precious gift, guarding our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). His providence is ever-faithful, supplying all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). And His progress in our lives is sure, for *"he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6, WEB). We declare these promises over you and ask the Lord to deepen your trust in His faithfulness.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks Your deliverance and peace. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer, and that Your power is made perfect in our weakness. We ask You to break every chain of demotivation and distraction that has sought to bind this beloved child of Yours. Lord, You have called us to be fruitful and to walk in the good works You have prepared for us—restore their focus, renew their mind, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purpose and discipline. Let every wasted moment be redeemed, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path.
Father, we also come against the spirit of revenge that has taken root. Lord, You know the offense that has caused this anger, and we ask You to uproot it completely. Fill this heart with Your love and forgiveness, for You have called us to bless those who curse us and to pray for those who despitefully use us. Break the power of bitterness, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Remind them, Lord, that vengeance is Yours, and that You will repay. Let them release this burden to You and walk in freedom.
We thank You, Father, for the peace, providence, and progress You are bringing into their life. Let them see Your hand moving in every area, and let their faith be strengthened as they trust in You. Surround them with Your favor as with a shield, and let every step they take be ordered by You. We declare that they are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them, and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to stay rooted in the Word of God daily, for it is your sword against the enemy’s lies. Seek fellowship with other believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. And remember, the battle is not yours, but the Lord’s. He is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in you. Walk in victory, for *"if God is for us, who can be against us?"* (Romans 8:31, WEB). Stay strong in the Lord, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.
