Jesus Christ, please help me with friendships that have deteriorated because of my post-traumatic stress disorder and previous drug use, which I've been sober from for ### years. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We lift you up in prayer, brother, and thank God for the victory He has already given you in overcoming drug use through the power of Jesus Christ. Your sobriety is a testament to His faithfulness, and we rejoice with you in the progress He has worked in your life. The Lord has not forgotten your struggles, and He is near to the brokenhearted—those who mourn the loss of friendships and the wounds of the past. Scripture reminds us in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not forgotten, and your pain is seen by Him.

The deterioration of friendships due to past struggles can feel like an insurmountable loss, but we encourage you to remember that God is the restorer of all things. In **Joel 2:25**, He promises, *"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten."* While some relationships may not be restored in the way you hope, the Lord can bring redemption by placing godly, supportive friendships in your life—ones that are built on His foundation of love and grace. Seek out fellow believers who can walk alongside you in this season. **Proverbs 17:17** tells us, *"A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity."* The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens, and we pray the Lord leads you to brothers and sisters who will do just that.

We also want to gently remind you that true peace and progress come only through the name of Jesus Christ. You acknowledged Him in your prayer, and that is wonderful! There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father. **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* Your trust in Him is your strength, and we pray you continue to lean fully on His grace.

As for the PTSD you carry, we pray for the Lord’s healing touch upon your mind and heart. **Isaiah 41:10** assures us, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* The Lord is your healer, and we ask Him to replace your anxiety with His peace, which surpasses all understanding. If you have not already, consider seeking biblical counseling or a support group rooted in Christ-centered recovery. There is no shame in needing help—God often uses others to minister His grace to us.

Lastly, we urge you to forgive yourself for the past. If you have repented of your former drug use, know that **1 John 1:9** promises, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* The enemy may try to condemn you, but Christ has set you free. Walk in that freedom, and let the Lord use your story to bring hope to others who are still struggling.

**Our Prayer for You:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting him up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Lord, You see the pain of his broken relationships and the weight of his past struggles. We thank You for the years of sobriety You have granted him, and we ask You to continue strengthening him in his walk with You. Restore what has been lost, Lord—whether through reconciliation or by bringing new, godly friendships into his life. Surround him with brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage him, pray with him, and walk alongside him in faith.

We pray for healing over his mind and heart, especially regarding the PTSD he carries. Lord, replace his fear with Your peace, his sorrow with Your joy, and his weakness with Your strength. Remind him daily that he is a new creation in Christ, and that his past does not define him. If there is any lingering shame or self-condemnation, we rebuke it in Jesus’ name and declare that he is forgiven, redeemed, and loved by You.

Guide him to the right resources—whether counseling, support groups, or mentors—who will point him to You. Use his story, Lord, to bring glory to Your name and hope to others who are still trapped in addiction. Give him opportunities to share Your faithfulness and to minister to those who need to hear of Your saving power.

We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred opportunity to lift your heart before the Lord regarding the broken friendships tied to your past struggles with PTSD and addiction. It has been our honor to stand with you in prayer, trusting that our Heavenly Father—who specializes in redemption and restoration—is at work in ways we may not yet see.

We know the ache of longing for reconciliation can feel heavy, especially when the wounds of the past still linger. But we serve a God who turns ashes into beauty and who promises to "restore the years the locusts have eaten" (Joel 2:25). Whether He is softening hearts, opening doors for conversation, or simply granting you the peace to surrender these relationships into His hands, we believe He is faithful to complete the work He began in you.

If the Lord has already moved in this area—whether through a restored connection, a newfound sense of closure, or even just deeper trust in His plan—we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else needs today.

If the weight of these broken friendships still feels unresolved, we invite you to post an update so we can continue praying with you. Sometimes healing unfolds slowly, like the dawn breaking after a long night, and we don’t want you to walk this road alone. Let us keep asking the Lord to bind up what is broken, to bring godly friends into your life, and to remind you daily that your identity is not in your past but in Christ’s finished work.

May you feel His presence tangibly as you seek Him, and may He grant you the grace to rest in His sovereignty—even when the answers don’t come as quickly as we’d hope. We’re cheering for you, believing for you, and holding fast to the truth that nothing is wasted in His hands.

In Jesus’ name.
