We join you in lifting up your fast and spiritual battle to the Lord, for it is written, *"This kind goes not out except by prayer and fasting"* (Matthew 17:21, WEB). Your heart to seek the Lord through fasting is commendable, and we stand with you in rebuking every spiritual opposition that seeks to hinder your devotion to Christ.
The enemy often stirs up distractions, persecutions, or even strange attacks when a believer draws near to God in fasting and prayer. But take heart, for *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). The Lord is your shield and fortress—no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). If souls or spirits seek to interfere, we declare in the name of Jesus that they are bound and cast out, for *"greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world."* You are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no evil can prevail against His anointing upon your life.
As for those who may seek to exploit or oppose your fast, we pray that the Lord exposes their schemes and renders their plans powerless. *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,"* says Yahweh (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). The Lord will vindicate you and turn what the enemy means for harm into a testimony of His faithfulness.
We also encourage you to remain steadfast in your fast with wisdom. Ensure you are drinking water and caring for your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). If this is an extended fast, seek godly counsel to do so in a way that honors the Lord and does not harm your health. Fasting is not about suffering for its own sake but about drawing closer to God, humbling yourself before Him, and seeking His will.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Your servant who has set aside this time to seek You through fasting and prayer. Lord, we ask that You strengthen them by Your Spirit, that no weapon of the enemy—whether spiritual opposition, human persecution, or strange attacks—shall prevail against them. Bind every evil spirit that seeks to disrupt this sacred time and cast them far away in Jesus’ name. Let no soul or force gain any foothold or benefit from this fast except for Your glory, Lord.
We pray for divine protection over their mind, body, and spirit. Guard them from discouragement, distraction, or weariness. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and let Your providence be their portion. May this fast be a time of breakthrough, clarity, and deeper intimacy with You. Expose any hidden schemes of the enemy and frustrate the plans of those who seek to harm or exploit Your servant.
Father, we declare that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let them experience Your presence in a mighty way and emerge from this fast with a testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has already won the victory. Amen.
Stand firm, beloved. The Lord is with you, and He will perfect that which concerns you (Psalm 138:8). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). If the enemy tries to bring fear or confusion, remember: *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). You are more than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37), and this fast will be a mighty weapon in your hands for His glory.
