Jesus Christ, please help me with brain changes after drug abuse. I know that there is a baseline depression if someone resists the urge to return to their drugs of choice. I know there is a depression and also a mania that my current prescribed medicine helps to stabilize. I know that that coffee is much gracias. Jesus Christ, please help me to be in providence and consistent and motivated. I have a craving for ### because it helps to iron out the spikes of motivation and depression that appears from actions done and exercise done. ### treats erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation, and also increases pleasure. I was hoping ### would help me to be productive and successful. Jesus Christ, please help me with the difficult to explain thought. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We lift you up in prayer, brother, as you seek healing and restoration from the effects of drug abuse. It is clear that you are facing both physical and spiritual battles, and we commend you for turning to Jesus Christ in this struggle. The Lord is your strength, and He alone can renew your mind and body as you surrender to Him. Let us address each part of your request with Scripture and prayer, speaking truth into your situation.

The apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 12:2, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* Your brain and body have been affected by substance abuse, but God is the Great Physician, and He can restore what has been broken. The depression and instability you describe are real challenges, but they are not beyond His power. We encourage you to lean on Him fully, trusting that He is working even in the midst of this struggle. Psalm 34:18 says, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* He sees your pain and is with you in it.

You mentioned that coffee has been helpful, and we thank God for the small mercies He provides. However, we must address the craving you expressed for **###** (which we understand to be a substance used for performance enhancement and pleasure). Brother, this is a dangerous path. The desire to rely on any substance—whether illicit drugs, prescribed medications used improperly, or even performance-enhancing substances—to manipulate your mood, productivity, or physical function is a form of idolatry. It places trust in created things rather than the Creator. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 declares, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* Your body belongs to Him, and He calls you to steward it with purity and wisdom.

The issues you mentioned regarding erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation are sensitive, but they must be addressed biblically. Sexuality is a gift from God, but it is meant to be expressed within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman. If you are not married, we urge you to flee from sexual immorality, including the pursuit of substances that enhance sexual pleasure outside of God’s design. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 says, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."* If you are struggling with lust or sexual sin, repent and turn to Jesus. He offers forgiveness and the power to walk in purity.

As for productivity and success, remember that God’s definition of success is not the same as the world’s. He calls you to faithfulness, not to performance enhanced by ungodly means. Colossians 3:23-24 says, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Your motivation should come from Him, not from substances that temporarily alter your state. The mania and depression you experience may feel overwhelming, but God’s grace is sufficient for you. 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us, *"He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me."*

We also notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus, there is a sense of bargaining or transaction in your prayer—*"Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress."* Brother, prayer is not a transaction; it is communion with the living God. He is not a vending machine where we insert requests and receive blessings. He is your Father, who loves you and desires your holiness more than your temporary comfort. Come to Him with a heart of surrender, not a list of demands. James 4:3 warns, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."*

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift our brother before You, asking for Your healing touch upon his mind, body, and spirit. Lord, You see the damage that substance abuse has caused, and You alone can restore what has been broken. We pray that You would renew his mind, as only You can, and deliver him from the depression and instability that plague him. Father, give him the strength to resist the urge to return to drugs or to seek ungodly solutions like performance-enhancing substances. Help him to trust in You alone for his motivation, productivity, and joy.

Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that tell him he needs these substances to function or to find pleasure. Holy Spirit, fill him with Your power and remind him that his body is Your temple. Convict him of any sexual sin or lust, and lead him into purity. If he is struggling with temptation, surround him with godly men who can hold him accountable and point him to Christ.

Father, we ask that You would provide him with godly wisdom regarding his prescribed medications. Give his doctors insight to treat him in a way that honors You. Help him to steward his body well, seeking Your glory in all things.

Most of all, Lord, draw him closer to You. Let him find his identity, worth, and purpose in Christ alone. Remove any idols from his heart and replace them with a deep, abiding love for You. May he seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will provide all that he needs.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lived, died, and rose again to set us free from sin and death. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, to pray continually, and to seek fellowship with other believers who can support you in this journey. If you are not already part of a Bible-believing church, we urge you to find one where you can grow in your faith and be held accountable. The road to recovery is not easy, but with Christ, it is possible. He is making all things new—including you. Stay steadfast, and do not lose heart. *"Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith"* (Hebrews 12:1-2). You are not alone in this fight. We are standing with you in prayer.

We're right there with you, brother. We understand that the road to recovery is filled with ups and downs, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But remember, God is always with you, and He's working in your life even when you can't see it.

We want to encourage you to keep fighting, to keep seeking God's face, and to keep trusting in His goodness. The cravings you're feeling are real, but they don't have to control you. You are not defined by your past or your struggles. You are a child of God, and He has a purpose for your life.

We also want to remind you that God is not a genie in a bottle. He's not there to grant your wishes or make your life easy. He's there to help you grow, to sanctify you, and to make you more like Jesus. So, instead of asking for peace, providence, and progress, why not ask Him for the strength to endure, the wisdom to discern His will, and the courage to obey it?

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of our brother. Lord, we ask that You would give him the strength to resist the cravings he's feeling. Help him to turn to You in those moments of weakness, to cry out to You, and to trust in Your unfailing love.

Father, we also ask that You would give him clarity of thought. Help him to understand the things that he's struggling to grasp. Open his mind to Your truth, and help him to see things from Your perspective.

Lord, we ask that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Help him to walk in Your ways, to obey Your commands, and to live a life that pleases You. Give him the desire to do what is right, and help him to stand firm in the face of temptation.

Most of all, Lord, we ask that You would draw him closer to You. Help him to know You more deeply, to love You more passionately, and to serve You more faithfully. Help him to find his identity in You, and to live a life that reflects Your glory.

We pray all these things in Jesus' name, Amen.
