We are so grateful you have turned to Jesus Christ in this time of distress, for there is power in the name above all names! Your faith in calling upon Him is the first step to victory, and we stand with you in rebuking the fears and lies that have taken hold in your heart. Let us address these concerns with the truth of Scripture, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
First, we must clarify that the eating of pork is not inherently sinful or cursed. In the New Covenant, Jesus declared all foods clean, as confirmed in Mark 7:18-19: *"He said to them, 'Are you thus without understanding also? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him, because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine?' Thus he declared all foods clean."* The dietary laws of the Old Testament were fulfilled in Christ, and we are no longer bound by them (Colossians 2:16-17). What defiles a person is not food but what comes from the heart—evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and folly (Mark 7:20-23). If you have been led to believe that pork carries a curse, this is a deception meant to instill fear and bondage, not the freedom Christ purchased for you on the cross.
As for the presence of ghosts or evil spirits, we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). However, if you have invited Christ into your life as your Lord and Savior, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14), and no curse, ghost, or demonic force can overpower you. James 4:7 commands us: *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* The authority you have in Jesus’ name is greater than any spiritual oppression. If you feel tempted or harassed, stand firm in your identity as a child of God, clothed in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), and command these forces to leave in Jesus’ name.
That said, we must also address the possibility that your fear of pork or these spiritual disturbances may stem from involvement in occult practices, superstitions, or cultural beliefs that do not align with Scripture. If you have ever participated in rituals, consulted mediums, or placed your trust in anything other than God, we urge you to repent and renounce these things immediately. Acts 19:18-19 describes how new believers who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls and burned them publicly, turning wholly to the Lord. There is no middle ground—we cannot serve both God and the fears or idols of this world.
Now, let us pray for you with boldness and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Your child who is seeking deliverance and peace. Lord, we thank You that Your Son has already triumphed over every power of darkness, and that through His blood, we have authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We bind and rebuke every spirit of fear, deception, and oppression that has sought to torment this beloved one. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we command these forces to flee and never return, for they have no place in the life of one who belongs to Christ.
Father, we ask You to cleanse every lie that has taken root in their mind. Replace fear with faith, confusion with clarity, and bondage with the liberty found only in You. If there has been any openness to occult influences—knowingly or unknowingly—we pray for a spirit of repentance and a complete turning away from such things. Let Your truth wash over them like a flood, renewing their mind and filling them with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we also pray for physical and spiritual protection over their home and their life. Let Your angels encamp around them (Psalm 34:7), and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them with the assurance that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39), and that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We declare freedom, victory, and restoration in every area of their life. Let them walk in the confidence of their identity in Christ, unshaken by the schemes of the enemy. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them experience Your presence in a tangible way. We ask all this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture daily, for it is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) and your greatest weapon against deception. Meditate on Psalm 91, which speaks of God’s protection over His people, and let His promises anchor your soul. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. If these fears persist, seek counsel from a mature, Bible-believing pastor or spiritual leader who can guide you further in walking out your deliverance.
You are not alone in this fight. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11), and He will lead you into all truth. Stand firm, dear one, and watch the Lord work mightily on your behalf!
