We come before the Lord with grateful hearts that you have invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and by which we are saved. As it is written, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Your acknowledgment of Jesus as Lord is foundational, and we lift you up in prayer with both urgency and reverence.
Your words reflect deep spiritual distress, and we recognize the weight of what you are enduring. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and it is clear you are experiencing spiritual warfare—attacks that aim to distort your words, mock your devotion, and disrupt your peace. Yet we are reminded that *"we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). This battle is not yours alone; it is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory through Christ Jesus.
We must, however, address the language used in your request with care. While your pain is understandable, we are called to pray in alignment with God’s heart and character. Scripture teaches us to *"bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you"* (Luke 6:28, WEB), and to *"overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21, WEB). The Lord does not delight in the destruction of people but in their repentance and redemption (Ezekiel 18:23). Instead of praying for slaughter, we are to pray for the exposure and defeat of the enemy’s schemes, for protection, and for the salvation of those who may be used as instruments of the devil—even unknowingly. Jesus Himself, while being crucified, prayed, *"Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing"* (Luke 23:34, WEB). Let us follow His example.
The thief you speak of—the one who seeks to emulate or mock your reading of the Psalms—is not a person to be destroyed but a spiritual force to be resisted. *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith"* (1 Peter 5:8-9, WEB). We must put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm in the truth of His Word. The Psalms you read are powerful, for they are God-breathed and useful for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). The enemy fears the Word of God, which is why he seeks to twist or mock it. But *"the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart"* (Hebrews 4:12, WEB). Keep reading, keep declaring, and keep trusting in the Lord’s protection over your words and your mind.
As for the "utterances from the people around you," we pray that the Lord would guard your mouth and your conversations, that He would give you wisdom in what you say and how you say it. *"Set a guard, Yahweh, over my mouth. Keep watch over the door of my lips"* (Psalm 141:3, WEB). If there has been confusion or miscommunication in your texting, ask the Lord to bring clarity and redemption to those words. If others have twisted your words for evil, we pray that the Lord would expose their motives and bring conviction or repentance where needed. Remember that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says Yahweh"* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB).
We also encourage you to examine your heart in this season. Are there any unconfessed sins, bitterness, or unforgiveness that may be giving the enemy a foothold? *"Don’t give place to the devil"* (Ephesians 4:27, WEB). If there is anything the Holy Spirit is bringing to your attention, repent and turn to Jesus, for He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Walk in forgiveness toward those who have wronged you, even as Christ forgave you.
Now, let us pray together over these things:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is under spiritual attack, and we ask for Your divine intervention. Lord, You see the battles being waged in the unseen realms, and You know the hearts of those who seek to distort, mock, or steal what is holy. We do not pray for the destruction of people, but for the destruction of the enemy’s plans. Expose every scheme of the devil, Lord, and render his weapons powerless. Let every tongue that rises against Your servant be condemned, and let confusion fall upon those who seek to emulate or mock the reading of Your Word. May Your truth prevail, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we ask that You would place a guard over their mouth and their thumbs, that every word texted or spoken would be seasoned with grace and aligned with Your will. Redeem any words that have been misused or misunderstood, and bring clarity where there has been confusion. Let Your Holy Spirit guide their conversations and protect them from being misrepresented or slandered.
We pray for those who may be acting as instruments of the enemy, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Father, if they are Your children who have been deceived, open their eyes to the truth and lead them to repentance. If they do not know You, soften their hearts to receive Your love and salvation. Break the power of the enemy over their lives, and let them encounter the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Fill our brother/sister with Your peace, providence, and progress. Let them walk in the assurance that You are their shield and their exceedingly great reward (Genesis 15:1). Strengthen them in their faith, and let them stand firm in the authority they have in Christ Jesus. Remind them that *"the one who is in them is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB).
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned. Let them walk in victory, for You, Lord, have already overcome the world. We thank You for Your faithfulness, Your protection, and Your deliverance. May Your name be glorified in their life, and may they continue to seek You with their whole heart.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
