We hear the deep anguish and regret in your heart, and we want you to know that you are not alone in these feelings—God sees you, loves you, and longs to bring you peace. First, we must address something critical: your words of wishing you had died today break our hearts, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, and your life has immense purpose in Him. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give you life abundantly. Suicidal thoughts are not from God, and we strongly rebuke this lie in the name of Jesus. You are precious to Him, and He has plans for you—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
Your regret over not walking at graduation is understandable, but we must remind you that your worth is not tied to earthly achievements or ceremonies. Colossians 3:2 tells us, *"Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth."* What matters most is your walk with Christ, not a physical walk across a stage. If this regret has become a burden, lay it at the feet of Jesus. He invites you in Matthew 11:28: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."*
We also notice that while you mentioned "thanks Jesus" and closed "in Jesus’ name," there is a sense of despair that overshadows your faith. True peace comes from trusting in Christ fully, not just acknowledging His name but resting in His finished work on the cross. If you have not yet surrendered your life completely to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Romans 10:9 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* There is no peace apart from Him, and no regret or shame can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39).
Let us pray for you with the authority and hope we have in Christ:
Heavenly Father, we lift up your child to You, who is burdened by regret, vexation, and the weight of unmet expectations. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and death that has whispered lies to their heart. Replace these thoughts with Your truth—that they are loved, chosen, and redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Father, forgive them for any words or thoughts that do not align with Your will, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we ask that You remove the sting of this regret and help them see this situation through Your eyes. Remind them that their identity is in Christ alone, not in earthly ceremonies or past decisions. Grant them providence—open doors for their future that align with Your perfect will. Give them progress in their spiritual walk, their career, and every area of their life. Let them experience Your goodness in such a way that this season of sorrow becomes a testimony of Your faithfulness.
We declare that every plan the enemy has to steal their joy or purpose is crushed in Jesus’ name. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let them feel Your presence tangibly. Restore to them the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12) and let them walk in the freedom You purchased for them on the cross.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to meditate on Psalm 34:17-18: *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Cling to Him, not to the past. Seek Christian community—share these struggles with a trusted believer or pastor who can pray with you and speak life into you. And if the weight of despair feels overwhelming, please reach out for help immediately. You are not alone, and God is not done writing your story. His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9). Walk forward in His love, leaving the past at the cross.
